Chasing Nikki
Chase Walker used to be a good kid--charming, athletic, and with a bright future ahead, but that was before travesty struck his life, sinking him into deep despair. Caught up in a world of drugs and alcohol, he doesn't notice time slipping away until he's arrested for underage drinking one night.Fed up with watching her son destroy his life, Chase's mom relocates him to live in a small ranching community with his ex-military grandfather. Chase is far from happy about the situation until he meets, Nikki, the cute cheerleader who won't give football players like him the time of day.
Chase enjoys a good challenge though and sets out to claim Nikki for his own. He soon discovers she's more than a pretty face--she's a balm to his troubled spirit also. But when tragedy strikes Nikki's life too, suddenly Chase finds himself put to the ultimate test. Can he trust Nikki, and all that she's taught him? Will it be enough?
This book really overwhelmed me. It is one that will forever stay in my heart. Chase walker goes a little after his father dies so his mother sends him off to live with his grandfather before he destroys himself and his future.
When Chase meets the cheerleader at his new school he doesn't understand why she won't go out with him. As the stud has never had to try before. It is only when they both find themselves working together that they open up to each other and he finds out why Nikki doesn't date Jocks.
The two grow closer
The novel is a beautifully written love story that will have you going awwwww at every page turn. When i was first got told how completely sad this book was, i was like ok lets give it a go. Only i could never find the sad part in the book. I really couldn't. I even thought at one point i must be reading the wrong book. Then Wham the book took a turn for the worst and i was a blubbering mess. I seriously did not see it coming and i really presumed there would be a happy ending. No such luck. I was completely took off guard and the book was just pouring with so much emotion, i felt every single heartbreaking moment.
This book had me crying so hard my eyes stung and i don't think i would have cried if it wasn't for the talented writer. It must have been so hard to write such emotional scenes and to feel the emotion we all get when reading it. It was fantastic and i really do hope Chase gets his happy ever after..... Here's hoping....
