Elect By Rachel Van Dyken

Nixon Abandonato made his choice. And now he has to pay the price. Tracey is the love of his life, but being with him has made her a target of his family's enemies. The only way to keep Trace alive is convince the world she means nothing to him.

Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nix suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nix--and if he won't fight for them, she will.
In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner . . . Read on for my review ....
Ok so i felt like i have waited for this book for so long when in reality it has been a few weeks. It was so worth the wait.
A lot of family feuds, secrets and drama going on. I loved how Rachel Van Dyken wrote the plot. It was easy to follow, even with so much going on in one novel.
This novel is written in three of the main guy POV and although at times it was annoying because i wanted nothing more than to read Traces POV, i LOVED how we got to know the men in the novels at a more intimate perspective.

Both Chase and Nix love Trace but its Nix's love that is pure. It was selfless, pure, true, and swoon worthy. He would die for her, kill for her, and give her up for her to be happy. It what love should be and although Chase's love was just as strong i still felt like he deserved someone more. Someone he could have love him back as strong and for him to love with no regrets, no guilt and no retaliation for the choices he makes.

The book is filled with action and has everything going on from start to finish. I loved it. Not my first mafia book but this one shows us more on what goes on from the inside. The choices they make, the upbringing of a mafia child and the consequences of a mafia family member.

The only thing i would love to have read more was Nix and Trace and their relationship. In the first book it come across more honest, more sexual but in this novel it was tamed. There chemistry is hot and wish certain *ahum* scenes were more explicit, but also wish we could have had Trace's POV from when Chases dad comes in to tell them about Nix.

Looking forward to reading about Chase and Mil story, the ending had me groaning. Why oh why did it have to end like that. At least i know for sure i will be purchasing the next installment.

5*
