When Stars Collide (Light in the Dark #2) By Micalea Smeltzer

We were like two stars orbiting each other—dancing around the possibility that one day we might collide. When we finally did, we opened up a black hole, obliterating everything around us. No one would be the same.
Least of all, us.

Waking up in Vegas married to the guy of your dreams sounds like a good thing, right? Not when you’re Thea Montgomery and said guy is your brother’s best friend.

Thea and Xander have always avoided the connection between them because her brother would never approve. Now, they’re married— the strongest bond you can have as a couple—and they’re not even a real couple…unless they want to be.

Thea wants an annulment immediately, but Xander’s waited too long to see her become his and he won’t let her go easily.

If she wants a divorce, fine, but he wants the summer to convince her that he’s the one. If at the end of the summer she still wants to end their marriage he’ll sign the papers, but until then…

All is not fair in love and war.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I think this story had major potential. I just felt it went from one issue to another and never concentrated enough on the issues.

The story is written in both Xander's and Thea's POV, the story moving quickly, giving both of them a voice.
Being's Thea has had feelings for Xander since forever, I never understood her issue with being married to him. Yes, marriage is a big deal... but what's done is done and if you love someone that much, isn't that where you're potentially heading anyway?

Then there was the whole parent's abuse issue. Her brother was beaten badly since he was a child and was still being abused by their father. Yet, no reason was given as to why he only hit her brother and not her. Yes, he doesn't need a reason but I felt this one needed one.
There was also an issue with the loss of a sibling in the book which to me, was made out to be a huge part of the story but was never mentioned at the beginning. It felt like it was added in there as she was writing. Like it had never originally been part of the story so it didn't have that heartbreaking effect on me. I didn't feel their pain or their loss.

As a story line it was good. All of the issues were. But so much was going on I didn't feel like I could concentrate. It just bounced from on to the other. But those issues, if written in more detail and if they blended together would have made this a 5* for me.
