Game (Gentry Boys #3) By Cora Brent

Stephanie...
As a bookie, I know more about money lines, pay sheets and point spreads than any six men. I always thought I was in control until a terrible betrayal taught me otherwise. The price was my dignity and I can't bear to make any more mistakes.
Chase Gentry figured it would be easy to get to me. He thought I was like every other girl, just dying to spread wide for him. I knew it was a rotten gamble to get mixed up with a guy too smart and too hot for his own good. Chase is destined to be as much trouble to those around him as he is to himself. But it's too late. He's already won my heart.
Everyone around us insists that we're wrong for each other; too intense, too explosive. Everyone might be right.

Chase...
Gentry men aren't supposed to be very bright. We're big. We're brutal. Women can't wait to invite us inside. I know I can have any one of them I want any time I want.
It seems unlikely that some bad-tempered chick and her snotty attitude would keep my interest but here it is. Stephanie has no idea what she does to me. I want that girl in more ways than I can even talk about.
It should have been enough to have her and be done with it. But no matter how volatile we are together, it's never enough. To hell with anyone who objects. I'm not letting her go.

I will admit this one is the best one in the Gentry boys that I've read. I know I didn't particularly get excited over the first two, but like I said in their reviews, I love the Gentry boys.  Especially Chase Gentry. He has made me laugh so much through the books, but not as much during this one. He's still a likable character.

I liked Stephanie's character. She was stubborn, shy, sweet, caring, hard faced, but still managed to be so likable. The only thing I couldn't see Stephanie doing is falling in love as quickly as she did. Someone with her past, her trust issues and her personality, doesn't seem the type to just fall in love, especially with the biggest whore out of the Gentry boys. It's what made me not connect to the book.
That said, it was better written than the other books.

Draw (Gentry boys) #1 By Cora Brent

SAYLOR…
I don’t even know if love is real. After running from the bastard who brutalized me, I limped back to Arizona, choosing a vibrant college town in the hopes of starting over. I never expected to find him there.
Cord Gentry.
He and his brothers were tough, lusty forces of nature I’d known since childhood. Years ago, Cord seduced me as a sick game. I’ve hated him ever since. Now here he is again, a man who beats other men bloody for money.
Cord has always been heartless, dangerous, not to be trusted.
And I want him so much I can’t think.

CORD…
They called us ‘those white trash Gentry boys’ until we believed that’s what we were. Our people squatted at the edge of a hellhole prison town for generations. The childhood we endured was the stuff of nightmares. I’d learned early on that my brothers, Chase and Creed, were the only people on earth worth my time.
They all told us we were bad, that we’d always be bad.
The horrors of the past have scarred my soul.
But now I need to be better.
For her.

For some reason I haven't gotten around to writing a review, but I remember the book so well and because I've just read the second book, I thought I'd write this out before I forget.

Saylor is from a small town. As it says in the blurb Cord seduced her in a sick game he had with his brothers. He had her humiliated afterwards, letting everyone know he had taken the towns virgin. If I was Saylor I would never have forgiven him, but then years later she escapes her boyfriend after he hits her and goes running to her cousin, but instead runs into the person she has hated since she was a teen.

Cord, is one of the Gentry triplets. He and his brother don't come from a good home and was beaten by the dead beat father, tortured and left with nightmares of their childhoods still years later. All Cord ever had was his brothers. His mom didn't help him, his dad was always beating them and the town folks and labelled them trash.
When they're old enough they escape they're shitty home. Cord is honest about the mistakes he's made in life and is sorry for what happened with Saylor.
Only she isn't the same girl she was back then and he finds him self more drawn to her.
There relationship felt rushed to me, but I still enjoyed the story. Saylor's ex isn't happy, so they have that to deal with, but also the lifestyle choice Cord has. He's a fighter and Saylor doesn't like it.
The book ends on a high after one of the brothers is badly beaten leaving one with no choice but to make a deal with the devil.
I promise you won't be disappointed with this story.
The Gentry boys are extremely hot.

Risk (Gentry Boys #2) By Cora Brent

TRULY...
My life hasn't been uneventful and a few things should have sunk in by now. I'm a tired age twenty one with a laundry list of heartbreaks. Most of all, I know what carnage comes from carelessly risking the heart. So what drives me to jump into bed with a brooding player who can barely carry a conversation?
It was supposed to be just one night.
One night of weakness, of passion, of every impulse I'd struggled to contain.
Yet I can't stop myself from going back for more.

CREED...
Violence had always found us Gentrys but this time I'd put the price on my own head. It was my cross to bear. No flinching allowed. There was only room for me, my brothers, and the resolve to survive. That's all there ever had been.
There was certainly no reason for more than than a quick and dirty time with any girl, no matter how much she turned my head around.
I shouldn't hold on to her for more than a few hours. I shouldn't even think about it. This thing could finish us both.
It doesn't matter. She's all I want.

I liked the first book in the Gentry boys series, but just like the first novel I felt like this lacked something. I don't know what or how the best way to describe it. I felt like an emotion or something was missing from the book.

Creed, although is a triplet, comes across as the eldest brother. I don't picture them as triplets. I always feel Creed is the eldest, Cord is the middle child and Chase is the youngest. It's just the way they are preserved in the stories. The way they act, the way they treat each other, when really they should be equal. But it doesn't come across like that, not that I mind, I like that they all look the same, but all have different personalities.
Creed is the mysterious one out of the group, the protector, the one who cares deeply on the inside but doesn't let it show to anyone other than his brothers.
So when he made the deal with the devil in the first novel I honestly didn't know what to expect in this novel. I wish the deal part had played out differently, but it still worked, it just lacked emotion, any drive to make you want to say 'oh no'.
I tried my hardest to connect to that part of the book but I just couldn't.

Then we have Truly. Her name kind of annoyed me LOL because I kept saying it as a word and not a name. Not  the authors fault, my own LOL such a petty comment I know, but I should warn others who tend to do the same.
I really loved her character. I wasn't too keen on her past story. It made it come across like something terrible had happened. Like when she admitted to something she did for the reason she left home, she makes it sound like her sisters never knew the truth. So it made me think it wasn't as straight forward as she told it. But then she tells Creed everything and it really is as straight forward. I think she overacted a little. I also know someone with the same story as Truly. Sleeping with their moms boyfriend and getting pregnant. I know that this can happen. I just didn't feel sorry for her if that makes sense.

Okay well enough of the babbling. You've heard enough, but it is a good series too read even if my review comes across as negative, it's still a fantastic read. It's one I'll be waiting to read the next one.

Promise me by Cora Brent

Promise Talbot needs to escape.
Forced into a polygamous marriage to a sadistic man, she grabs a desperate opportunity to flee his clutches.
And falls into the world of the Defiant Motorcycle Club.
Grayson Mercado seethes with the injustice of a long imprisonment for a crime he did not commit. Finally free, he is trying to make a life among his new Defiant brothers. Everything changes when a battered young woman approaches him, begging for help.
Promise and Grayson couldn’t be more different.
But the collision of passion and danger will spark a love written in their fates.

This story is different to any other MC novel because of the story dialogue. Promise is from a cult, and not a very nice one. Her back ground story is tragic and sad, yet she comes out stronger.

I would have liked to have known more about the cult and the MC. When Promise and Gray get together its all about them and them alone. we dont get to really see anything outside of them two, which is a disappointment.

The story in itself must have being hard for the author to write about. Its raw, and honest but so out there. I found, the first part of the book, i had to grip my kindle, not knowing what was going to happen next. Though the prologue kind of ruined the story if im honest, it took the mystery out of it.

The book is intense, raw, and emotional.
