This is the third book in the Amy Benson series. It's her brother Chad's, and Gia's story.
From the first two books we know that Chad played a huge part in the reason why Amy was on the run from an unknown enemy. What Amy didn't know until the end was that her brother was alive.
Now, back, Chad escapes the people who hired him to find a treasure. One he found but won't hand over. Imprisoned and tortured he's rescued by an unknown woman, Gia. Friend or Foe? Chad can't trust anyone and has already been burnt by a woman he thought he could trust.
But Gia promises him help, answers, in exchange for his protection. It seems Gia is in over her head and carrying a few secrets of her own. But is it to harm Chad, or save him?
I guess Chad is a anti-hero as such. He's done bad things, but deep down he's a good person. All he wants to do is protect his sister and he believes her new boyfriend isn't on her side. But he doesn't know him like we do, right ladies?
He's also not the nicest to our Gia. One who helped him escape, one who helped him full stop. He's so untrusting, he's blinded when there is someone he can trust right in front of him.
it doesn't stop him from using Gia as a physical release. He promises himself he won't get emotionally attached to Gia, but no matter what, or how nasty he was at times, you slowly see the change in his mixed feelings towards Gia.
As much as the story captivated me from beginning to end, it wasn't as drastic as I once presumed it would be. I had hoped for different outcomes.
The only downfall to the book for me was the price. It's priced at £7.03 at the moment, but was higher when I purchased it. Some authors don't get to chose the price, but for an ebook this is high priced for me and for others with a budget. You would better off buying the paperback for £8.99.
