Annabelle Spencer’s life is every girl’s dream. She has wonderful parents, great friends, and of course the perfect boyfriend, Jack Roberts. That all changes on her sixteenth birthday when her life comes crashing down around her. Her dream night turns into a nightmare when Jack is murdered right in front of her, and she’s kidnapped by his murderer, Carter Thomas, a big time drug and arms dealer. 
After ten months of being with Carter, she’s found, but the experience has totally changed her. Carter is currently serving time for the murder of Jack, a conviction that Anna helped secure. But his retrial is coming up because some key evidence appears to have been tampered with. Unbeknown to Anna, death threats are being received by her father, the Senator. It appears that Carter is still interested in Anna and will stop at nothing to get her back. 
Ashton Taylor is brought in to protect her. He’s a newly qualified SWAT agent, a bright spark, the agency’s new golden boy. He is assigned undercover, posing as her boyfriend. His job is to help her through college and keep her safe until the end of the trial in eight months’ time. 
For three years she has been the broken, damaged girl, refusing to feel emotion or pain, but can Ashton help her rebuild her life and finally deal with the grief of losing her childhood sweetheart? Will he be the one to make her see that life is, in fact, worth living and that not all men will hurt her? 
All the while, the shadow of the trial looms over the both of them, taunting them, reminding them that it isn’t over yet. After all, Carter Thomas will stop at nothing to be reunited with his ‘Princess’.




Oh. My. God. This book was freaking awesome. I loved it. When i first saw it on my recommendations list, i thought oh hell i can't read another book with sexual violence in it. So i tweeted Kirsty Moseley and asked to make sure, and  she told me its only insinuated. 

When i first start reading a book it usually takes me a few chapters to get into it, but no this book had me hooked from the beginning. 
 I cried so hard for Anna, having to watch her boyfriend die, to be kidnapped and haven gone through what she had. It was heartbreaking. Her story comes out throughout the book is small doses, through her nightmares or when she talks to Ashton.

 Anna is closed off and hate's anyone touching her or calling her princess, which is what led her to get kicked out of school. So when Ashton shakes her hand even i was gobsmacked. I honestly thought there would be a huge argument between the two, but no i was wrong. 

Ashton Taylor, what can i say ..... hhhhmmmm. I fell totally in love with him from the start. No ifs or buts he was the perfect guy. He was protective, kind, loving from the start towards Anna and helped her through some difficult times. How he helped her through her nightmares made my heart melt. That there in itself is a heart felt connection. 

There was a few times in the book where i seriously wanted to scream at them and say '' bloody hell, just tell her, or him'' but i am glad they didn't it made the book that much more exciting. 
I tried really hard to read this in one sitting but i just couldn't do it, i finally finished it at 2 o'clock this morning and was so worth it. 
Its one of those books that has you gripping on every page, hanging off every word, and one you totally fall in love with, sob through, and at the end make you miss the characters. 

Have to say, apart from the birth scene towards the end ( which was hilariously funny) the scene where Nate bets Anna in the club about who can get the most numbers. What she did had me laughing aloud for a while. 
Her strength is expiring, even though before Ashton she was barely living she still pulled through. It was another heart warming novel that you can't get enough of. 

Most of all though i loved the connection Ashton and Anna both shared, even though we all know how they feel, they didn't know how each other felt.
I don't want to ruin the book anymore but let me just say it is one of the most addictive books i have ever read. In fact my only other books like this are also from Kirsty Mosley, she is a fantastic writer. 

Hope you all like my review and it is enough to get you to go out and buy it. It is an amazing book and deserves to be read.
