Bound
College senior Kate Camden has learned to adapt - to her last year of school, to the promise of motherhood, to the fact that she’s doing it all alone. But just when she’s learned to adjust, heartache threatens to break her apart.
Pro hockey player Jason “Ryke” Ryker has it all: adoring fans, a promising career, and a beautiful wife. But when his seemingly perfect life is shaken by tragedy, he’s left questioning whether having it all is ever more than an illusion.
When circumstance brings Kate and Ryke together, they discover they don’t have to hurt alone. Bound by a grief that haunts them both, they must rely on one another to survive heartbreak. But that grief is more powerful than they realize, and the tie that binds them together may ultimately tear them apart.
Warning spoilers .....
What a sweet, easy to read novel. When Kate finds her self adapting to mother hood, its all taken away from her just when she had finally come to terms with the fact she was going to become a single mom.
I really liked Kate and i don't mean to sound like a b.i.t.c.h but she went a little OTT with the i will get pregnant if i have sex, etc. I know how easily you can get pregnant using protection and contraceptive so i understand her worries but to me faint wants you to be a mother. There is no stopping it if you have done everything to have safe sex.
Anyway back to the point.
She meets Ryke who is a Pro Hockey player at a grief group. Ryke lost his wife in a car accident. What i liked about the book is the notion of Loss and Hope. Both characters experienced a great loss but together they have hope.
The story didn't take me long to read and i enjoyed it. Although its not like the other books i usually read, because i like a bit of excitement in a book; It is still an amazing read and will capture your hearts.
Everyone looses someone important in their lives buts its how you adapt afterwards that determine your future. This book brings out the emotions of their losses and turns their grief into something beautiful.
3*
