Now this is what i call a novel. Seriously sexy, seriously steamy, swoon worthy, hot as hell, hilariously funny and most of all astoundingly beautifully written. 

This has entered my top of MMA fighter novels. It had everything in it. Hot men, fighting, drama, steamy sex scenes, and most all that all-consuming love. It holds everything dominant, alpha male and protective all into one little fantastic novel.

Both characters have troubled pasts but its Makayla's that interests me the most. It doesn't go into full detail to an extent but what is told in the end is enough to realize why she has a fear towards violence. 

 What confuses me though is that she has more trouble accepting Max for Max then she does for Max been Torment. You would think someone who has aversion to violence she would have trouble accepting that side of him. 

Normal Max, Torment Max and bedroom Max all have one thing in common, he likes to be controlling in a dominant, protective way. In the bedroom he takes her to new levels and pushes her over the limit but Like everything Max does he does it with everything in his life he does it with perfection. 

Against the ropes is such a thrilling novel and will have you gasping, and laughing till your sides hurt. Mak ( Makayla ) is so funny even in her thoughts. 

Towards the end of the novel Makayla is in a compromising position and instead of been scared like a normal person would she cracks jokes aloud and in her head.

‘The cellar door creaks and everyone looks up. Misery sends Curly to check it out. Curly doesn’t return. Red goes next. We wait. No Red. As if we were in a bad horror film, Misery decides to send the blond. The blond doesn’t want to go. He knows the score. Dark night plus disappearing friends usually equals axe in the head. I suggest he put on some sexy lingerie and run out screaming like a co-ed. Misery tells me to shut my mouth or he’ll shut it for me with something so big I’ll never be able to talk again. I hope it’s a big slice of pizza.‘

Totally worth the 5* i gave it and more.
