This book is about struggles of life. Rocco is not only fighting through the loss of his mother, the fact his brother is in prison, but mostly, he's an alcoholic.
Sophie is working her ass off in a dead end job while she struggles to pay off her debt her ex left her with and finishing uni.
When she finishes with her girlfriend she moves in with her best friend April, but listening to April and her soon to be husbands gets old pretty quick and when Rocco offers her his spare room for a few months she's hesitant at first, but in the end, she takes it.
The don't start off with fun and games. I think they find it hard to find that common ground, especially when they find each other attractive.
I loved these two. Not only as friends but as lovers too. I loved the interaction between the two and how they didn't just jump into bed with each other. There's also a scene that has me in stitches.It involves a dildo and an awkward trip to the hospital.
I would have liked more from them as a couple, but I suppose the journey that got them to being a couple was well worth the read. It was hard, gritty and completely overwhelming at times.
I will defo be reading more from this series now. I'd like to go back and read April and Spencer's story.
