As president of The Last Riders, Viper’s only fear was losing his wife. After all, he had almost lost her once before.
As wife to the president, Winter lived in fear every day: fear that a club enemy would take Viper from her, fear that one of the club women would tempt him to stray, fear that she wasn’t enough of a woman for him. One thing Winter didn’t fear was risking everything to carry her husband’s child, even her health, yet Viper refused to take the chance.
Losing hope, Winter made one last ditch effort, determined to make Viper realize that some things were worth fighting for besides the club.

After reading Jackal's and Penni's book, I've been dying to read this one. Winter has already been through so much with the last riders. Not only did she get used by Viper before he announced he was president of the club and only wanted to know who killed his brother but she was also beaten pretty badly by a deranged deputy.
Every day since then has been a recovery for Winter and a lot of wars going on between the last riders and their enemies and Winter has remained strong through it all.
But if none of that was bad enough, Viper won't let her have a baby. Not in the way everyone is thinking either. His reasons are all for love and fear. He doesn't want to lose Winter, since there's a high risk he will during the pregnancy. The damage that was done to her when she was beaten to death has left her with long lasting injuries that could cause implications during pregnancy.
At the moment, the club is on high alert over Raul wanting revenge on the last riders and the predators.
So Viper has a lot to deal with.... My opinion? I think it's a load of bull. He has a vice president and a group of brothers willing to die for him. It gave him no reason to do what he does in this book and although most was innocent enough, I didn't like the way he challenged Winter over it.
My heart broke for her.
This book is so much better than the last book (Jackal and Penni's) Some of this even crossed over with their book which was really good to see.
Another amazing thing happened during this book which is feels like a sneak peak into the Porter's series once again. Greer, the town's most hateable brother and town whore, does something remarkable in this book. It's no hidden secret that the Porters are more than a pot growing family. But after reading this book, his part, with tears streaming down my face, it made me fall a little for his character and I've disliked Greer and his treatment towards Holly for a while.
The topic the book focus' on is one that will have your heart racing, your heat breaking and your heart to warm with love. It's a topic most mom's will relate to, that agonising fear that will slowly eat away at you until you can't think.
Poor Winter went through so much, but reading the epilogue... made all that heartache and pain seem like nothing. I think she just topped my favourite female last rider, knocking Lily out of the top spot.
5*
Jamie Begley is an amazing writer, her books will always keep you guessing, keep you transfixed and craving more. They suck you in, compelling you. The book has already hit best seller on UK Amazon, and it's truly deserved it. I'll be adding this to one of my favourite reads this year for sure.
