This novel is full of drama, action and hot romance. I loved it from the get go.
Carson, after suffering a horrible encounter on her wedding day moves away, leaving all the family and friends she knew behind.
She finds out her would-soon-to-be husband is having an affair. Not only an affair but with her best friend, who is also her cousin. When she confronts them it breaks my heart. I felt so sorry for her. Being cheated on isn't nice, but the way she found out, wearing her wedding dress and listening to her mother and father tell her fiance not to tell her broke my heart for her.
After moving away she finds herself working a dead end job. She has a trust fund, but she wants to make her way to where she wants to be by herself. She works at a bar, and one night after dealing with a aggressive and rude customer, she meets Kyler.
Promising she will go on a date with him when she's finished her exams they are left getting to know each other through texts. The two get to know each other on another level.
In the mean time, her bestfriend, and daughter who Carson adores celebrate her graduating where she has another encounter from the asshole guy at the bar.
Leaving the party with her bestfriend and her daughter, they are run off the road by the same guy.
Landy, the daughter is released after a couple of days observation, but Carson is left with major injuries, one where she has to stay and recover for weeks. Her bestfriend however died in the car crash and now Carson and Landry have to mourn their loss.
So when Kyle turns up at the hospital unannounced when Carson doesn't confirm their date, Carson is surprised. She has met him twice and in both those times the attraction between the two have sizzled.
He then takes her home, prepared to take care of her until they find the guy who did this to her, but then everything changes.
Her bestfriends WILL is read, and the truth about Landry is revealed and all drama breaks out.
The two fight their attration, needing to put Landry and her wants first, but in the mean time they are fighting to survive the person who put all this into play.
It was a really gripping story, and it had me in tears a lot. Not just when her friend dies, or when she's interacting with Landry, who is deaf. There are other things going on in the story that had me crying, and its one of those books that will have you ringing someone you've fell out with, and telling them you forgive them, because let's face it, life is too short to hold grudges.
