Sofia comes from one of the most powerful families in Chicago, and when she turned her back on them, joining the force, they cast her out. For justice, she's been seeking her own investigation to not only take down her father, but other families out there who get away with what they do. 

Unknown to her, her investigation is known. Not only by her father but from the others she's investigation. With a bounty now on her head she has no choice but to trust Michael, who shows up, a gun in his hand and orders to keep her safe. 

What I thought would be a simple story of boy saves girl, turns out to be so much more. 
Not only does Michael have his own demons, but there's also a twist to the story I didn't see coming that concerns him. 
There was a whole love-hate thing I had for Michael. One minute he was charming, redeemable, and in the next he was an insufferable asshole who I thought was heartless. But his actions stem down to his up-bringing. 

He and Sofia, they're like chalk and cheese. They don't match but in a way, they do. She helps him bare his burdens, making him feel and in return he makes her feel safe, something she's never truly felt. 

I loved this story. 
I am a little disappointed certain bits dragged, and that the ending didn't anything more away. The cliffhanger drove me mad but in a good way. I seriously can't wait for the next book. 

So many dark twists and turns. It will have you hanging on to the edge of your seat, biting your nails, and wishing you had the next book. 
This book is so much different than T.Gephart books. Its a risk she took and it's fallen in her favour because the book is brilliant. I know most people don't like authors going off genre and sometimes I understand but in this case, T.Gephart really proved herself. The writing is brilliant, the story-line gripping and thrilling and the ending just blows you away.

After the demise of her parents, Christy’s boyfriend turns on her, causing her to suffer through an abusive relationship, until she flees. Battered, she wants only to disappear off the face of the earth. 
You should be careful what you wish for. 

After the single-engine plane she boards is thrown off course and crashes into the middle of nowhere, killing all but one of the other occupants, Christy almost gets her wish. She is dismayed when she realizes her only hope of survival is dependent on a man who appears more soulless than her ex. 

Lando knows Christy is following him through the wilderness, thinking he is unaware of her presence. And telling her he is a hit man for the mafia undoubtedly makes her wary. Life has made him hard and tough. 

When a violent storm forces the two into a confrontation of wills, they battle more than the elements together in a tiny cave, safe from a raging blizzard, but not their blazing emotions. 

Although I didn't like the writing and it took me a little while to get used to, I really enjoyed the story. I found a lot of errors during the book, but nothing really major enough to stop you wanting to read. 

The story starts with the Christy out taking photos before her and her boss Sam left to catch their private flight. When they get there, they aren't the only ones on the flight. 
Christy has a hard past, her ex abusive which has left her scared and frightened of other men. The only man she is close to, is her boss, Sam. 
On the plane Christy has to share with a man -Lando- who is with a detective and wearing cuffs. His eyes frighten her, but he looks to enjoy it. 
When the plane goes off track he is the one to try steady the plane and help the small group by telling them to get their heads down. 

After the plan crashes the only survivors are Lando and Christy, only he wants to kill her thinking she's out of her league and feels it will be less painful if he puts her out of her misery. Only something about her stops him and instead leaves her alone. 

Christy ends up following him through the woods, unaware that he knows she is following him. When he has enough of trying to keep her safe from afar, he takes her under his wing, keeping her fed and warm. 
The two become close and soon the chemistry between the two hits an all time high. 

From there, I thought the book was going to be about surviving the jungle, or forest until they got back to safety, but the book was more than that. 
Lando was under police protection for a reason and his reason was hiding from the boss. Lando is an assassin and when he refused to kill a mother and her two children his boss went a head and ordered the hit anyway, so when Lando found out he went to the police, knowing he doesn't kill the innocent and only the evil. 

Lines blur together and soon Christy is in the middle of it all, frightened and barely hanging on. 

I really enjoyed the story and will be reading the next one if it's about Wolf. I really liked his character, no matter how angry he got after promising Lando and Christy he wouldn't touch her.

As Ava and Owen dodge bullets, will they be able to escape their undeniable attraction to each other? Or will all of that chemistry blow up in a shower of hot and dangerous sparks?

This book is meant to be set in England with the main character from America. Only at times, I felt like was English. At the start of the book she called the train station, the tube, but then towards the end it was train station, not the tube. Confused? Yes. 
There were other similar scenes like this where her words would be mixed. I also felt it to be more American then English. A part from the description of  the weather, I didn't picture England in my mind. I don't know what exactly it was, but it's just how I felt. Not that it bothered me any, I just wanted to inform people before they read it. 

Now, the story line however is bloody brilliant, I couldn't put it down. I loved the banter that went back and forth between all characters and found myself laughing most the time. I also loved Ava's reaction to Owen being shot. Classic. 

The story is a journey about Ava moving to house sit for her bestfriend. She gets mistaken for someone else and has a hit put out on her. Owen, ever the hero you need when you have an Assassin out to kill you helps Ava escape them and to sort out what has been going on. It goes from there to the ending.... which, I will say ended abruptly. There was not much given us for answers, or what was going to happen next. There wasn't even a cliffhanger for us to be gushing over. It happened out of nowhere, so the ending is a huge disappointment, so I am hoping there is a next one and that will clear it up for us.
