Monster stepbrother By Harlow Grace

His dark obsession runs deep.

He's obsessed with her.
She's addicted to him.
Two damaged souls.
Will they heal or ruin one another?

How does a girl go from being Daddy's precious doll to a different kind of toy?
Easy really. When my father remarries it changes the course of my life and everything becomes . . . complicated.

My new stepbrother is a monster who hates me. Unapologetic, controlling, and brazen, he's intent on making my life a living hell.
Oliver King makes the rules. Whenever he wants. However he wants. Wherever he wants.
My head screams this is wrong, but I can't resist giving in to forbidden desires.
I want it as much as he does.

I'm his possession, his ultimate pleasure, his dark obsession.
My addiction to him grows to a dangerous level.  I can't stop craving more from the man who has made me his and ruined me for anyone else.
Can what starts out as lust and vengeance end as love?
Can we take away one another's pain and ease one another's fears?

Nobody said life or love was easy.
My name is Maya Childs, and this is my story.

I've read a lot of Stepbrother novels this year, so they have to be really good for me to even rate them. There seem to be that many of them out there and all similar story lines. And although I have read one similar to this one, it still felt unique in a way. I never expected to like the book as much as I did.

Oliver is demanding, rude, arrogant, sexy, hot, and a bully. We don't get to see the extent of their childhood together as Oliver gets moved away. So when Maya turns 16 he comes home to celebrate his mothers 40th birthday.
He's got a dark past, that leads to family secrets and obsessions. His main one being Maya.
So when he sees her all grown up he can't help but feel drawn to her. His attraction to her is off the charts hot and completely unhealthy.

What starts off with trying to seduce her stepbrother and drive him wild turns out to be more than Maya bargained for. He blackmails her into doing as he pleases, and we see a side to him we DO NOT like.
It took a while for me to find out Oliver's actual age and believe it or not they are only four years apart from each other. Not really that bad in the scheme of things.
Anyway, after disappearing for another few years he comes back to celebrate Maya's eighteenth birthday. Neither expect the outcome of what their teasing and obsession will do to each of them.

The story is hot, sexy and the sex scene are completely sizzling. Oliver doesn't do vanilla and it turns out Maya likes it however Oliver likes it.

Then all comes to a reveal and nothing is truly as it seems. I don't know if others picked up on it or just saw passed it, but I saw more to Oliver than his past experience made him out to be.

There were a few things that ticked me off, but I'll name the biggest one for me. It's near the end after Maya finally confides in Oliver's mom. Their relationship has been void since the day she married Maya's father, but having Oliver made them closer in a way over the years.
So, she confides in her stepmom about something, before running off across the globe to Oliver to fight for him. Only..... when she's there she's back to the same old record.
I wanted to smack her she drove me that mad. Why go all that way to get his hopes up then blow him off like it doesn't matter??? I don't think that part of the story was well thought of, just like a couple more.
All in all it's a great book and Harlow Grace wrote a really good stepbrother novel.

Stepbrother Dearest By Penelope Ward

You’re not supposed to want the one who torments you.

When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn’t prepared for how much of a jerk he’d be.

I hated that he took it out on me because he didn’t want to be here.
I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room.
But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.

At first, I thought all he had going for him were his rock-hard tattooed abs and chiseled face. But things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night.

Then, just as quickly as he’d come into my life, he was gone back to California.

It had been years since I’d seen Elec.

When tragedy struck our family, I’d have to face him again.

And holy hell, the teenager who made me crazy was now a man that drove me insane.

I had a feeling my heart was about to get broken again.

What can I say. I came across this by accident, and bloody hell I'm so glad I did because I enjoyed it from the word go.

Neither main characters are blood related, so let's get that cleared up. I was unsure about it at first, I mean, I have step brothers and sisters, and I'd ever look at them the way Greta looks at Elec. I mean, look, even their names are unusual.
There relationship was a rocky one. You know the saying your mom used to say when a boy picked on you? ''It means he likes you'' well that was certainly the case with this book. I could tell straight off he did, and although he was a cocky, arrogant, nasty little shit at times, I still fell for him the same way Greta did.
My heart also broke whenever hers did. It couldn't be stopped it was that emotional.
It also has anagrams in it, and bloody hell they had me in stitches. Here is one that had me laughing the most.

"Always Liquor before you poker" (They were at a casino) dirty meaning: "Always lick her before you poke her"
Loved it. Loved both characters. I liked the novel had intense situations, humorous situations and excellent writing.

Then we have the ending...(No spoilers) was amazing. I didn't know what to do. Cry, laugh, swoon, so in stead I did all three. Yes, all three.
