Blue By H.J.Bellus

Blue Williams shines no matter the circumstance.
-Prettiest in her hometown
-Most talented cheerleader on her high school squad
-Valedictorian of the senior class
-Prom queen and runner up for Miss Teen Colorado
And the list goes on…

That’s until college, when she finds out nobody recognizes her, and if they do they couldn’t care less. Blending in is something Blue has longed for her entire life. Living in a dorm with a set of new friends is just what she needed to escape her stale life back home. For the first time, she’s seen for her talent and not her name or looks.

Cheer is her number one priority, considering a full-ride scholarship landed her at a prestigious university, and she intends to take advantage of it. A true beauty inside and out, Blue’s heart has always pumped competitive blood.

Until one night changes her forever…the beauty is gone, and all she has left are nasty, ugly memories. The man who saved her has a story of his own, with ninety percent of his body scarred.

What happens when the Beauty falls for the Beast?

The blurb does nothing for this book.

"Until one night changes her forever…the beauty is gone, and all she has left are nasty, ugly memories. The man who saved her has a story of his own, with ninety percent of his body scarred. "

This is completely out of text. None of this happens so I'm really confused.

Blue starts college, and as soon as she moves into the dorms she finds herself going to find something to eat, and ends up in a fast food joint where she meets the football players in her school. That's where she meets Tuck. Well, she sees him and is captivated by him.
From then on she tries her damn hardest to be noticed, to get him to want her.

Soon, with their friendship getting closer, Blue finds herself a stalker, one going at lengths to make her scared.

The first half of this book held so much promise me. In fact, the first 70% did, but then all of a sudden it was like the author just wanted to get it finished.

I don't want to ruin the plot, so I'll hold off on details, but I felt like I had more questions at the end than I did answers. They made this big deal of what was going on, and to me, that felt it was only half of the ending, but then wham, it finished. No explanations, no backstory, none in her POV and none to explain what she went through or where she had been. Or hell, even about her recovery. It really blew me away and ruined the book for me.

That girl By H.J.Bellus

This book is about That Girl…

The girl who leaves behind her past, including her name; runs away from home and vows to never let another identity claim her again. Broken dreams, an abusive stepdad and ugly memories from her childhood are the only shattered remnants that have the ability to haunt her.

With no money, an endless blank slate laying ahead of her and no hopes for the future, she sets out to survive at minimum wage jobs, moving from town to town, changing her name with each move and never allowing glimpses of her past to threaten her empty future.

Average in every way, from her looks to her personality and even her style, there is not much to remember about her. When she abandons one town for another, she leaves behind her fake identity in search of the next one, while leaving people asking themselves, “I wonder what ever became of that girl.”

That was her reality until Lincoln Wilks.

The number one defensive player in Denver who finally names…That Girl.

That girl is a novel about a broken girl running. Running from the life she was brought up in, to the people she was brought up with, but mostly running from herself.
I was unsure where this book was going, I didn't find anything appealing until she met the soldier and his grandma. I honestly thought she made a friend there, but that got shattered quickly.
There were parts of the book that needed another proof reading as there were a few mistakes than I like. I can usually look past it, but it was hard to ignore in some places.
Then there was the story. In places I found it didn't make sense and it contradicted itself a lot. Or something was never brought up again. Like when she is going to watch him play, her and Jewels are moving quickly through the stadium and someone grabs hold of her hand, hurting her, but then nothing was ever mentioned. Nothing what-so-ever.
Then there was the so called ending. Like wow!! It came across like the author just wanted to be finished and get it published, because that was NO ending. It literally ends with her life hanging by a thread, then goes straight to an epilogue. It doesn't tell us who the dead girl is, or what happened as such, why there was another dead girl, or even how she recovered. Most importantly it doesn't elaborate on Linc's Mom. To me, a story should always fill in these questions before bringing the story to an end. It didn't cut it for me and it ruined it.

That said, the meaning behind the story was beautiful and I loved reading about her grow into a confident, strong women.
