Roped In By LP, Dover

Who says a wild heart can't be tamed?

For years, I lived for the job and let it control me. Violence was all I knew. I protected, killed, and served. My name is Blake Evans, one of the best undercover cops in the country. I thought I was about to live a quiet life on my ranch in Wyoming until an old friend showed up and changed everything. He brought me her, Hadley Rivers, country music sensation and the one woman I couldn't have. I didn't want her but she had me completely roped in.

My job is to protect her, to keep her away from some psycho who wants her for himself. However, there's more to her story than I was led to believe. I promised to keep her safe and I won't back down . . . even if I have to die trying. I can't let him have her.

I received this books as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Just reading the blurb I knew this book was going to be my kind of book. For those who know me know I have a thing for COWBOYS. Blake is one the best at his job but also enjoys the quiet life living on his ranch, breaking in horses.
When Hadley Rivers, a country singer is assigned to him for protection he sees her as a spoiled brat, but Hadley is anything but and puts Blake in his place.

Hadley, a new rising star singer has an over protective father, great friend, also manager, a fake boyfriend a stalker determined to scare her to death.
When her life is put in jeopardy, her fake boyfriend and body guard are shot, Hadley has to leave town and become someone completely new.

When she arrives her first thoughts on her new bodyguard are that he's completely hot, but then he opens his mouth and she thinks he's a complete jerk.
When Blake finally lets his guard down and sees Hadley isn't some rick Hollywood snob, he finally shows her his true self.
The two are so good together. I loved them both.

When they 'catch' Hadley's stalker things finally go back to normal, but having doubts on where he stand's Blake keeps his distance. Just when he finally decides he will do anything he needs to in order to be with her all hell breaks loose.
The story unfolds a lot of hidden secrets, and a LOT of twist and turns you will NOT see coming.

This has to be one book you NEED to read this year. It's brilliant. Loved it. This is the first book I've read of the authors, but it certainly won't be the last.

Ryder (Allen securities #4) By Madison Stevens

Irene wants to believe all she needs to heal after an emotionally abusive relationship are her friends and bakery, but Ryder Allen keeps intruding into her thoughts. Something about the huge man calls to her heart and body. Afraid to even think about loving again, she does her best to convince him that his affections are better directed elsewhere.

Security contractor Ryder has lived for years choked with bitterness and anger about a bad job that left both his heart and face scarred. His attraction to the shy Irene has left him determined to be with her, despite her insistence they just wouldn’t work together.

When a local biker gang recruits new help and begins making waves around town, neither Ryder nor Irene worry it’ll be much of a problem for her bakery other than some vandalism. Not thinking much about the trouble, Irene decides to take a camping trip with some friends, leading to unexpected terror in the woods that’ll require some skilled protection, which Ryder is more than ready to deliver.

I read Ryder thinking it could be read as a standalone like most series like this do. This was my own mistake by not looking further into it. The description didn't say anything about reading it as a series, or if it was a standalone.

I got confused throughout the whole book. The story line was freaking brilliant, but parts just weren't detailed enough and I'd be like, 'huh? why the hell did he say that for?' or 'where did that come from'. It really did need BETA'S or someone reading through it because it's such a shame. I hate reviewing storyline's like this. I always feel like I'm rating two books.

The first rating is the story plot...
Then the second it's detail, the editing, grammar etc

So, based on story plot, I'd give it a 4*
but everything else, including the flow of the story I give it a 2.5*

It's why I gave it a 3* as a whole.

Anyway, Ryder is in love with a baker and from what I made out reading this he has been for some time.
When her ex comes back into town, which is an example about things not being explained, her cousin and friend plan to go camping with her.
Alone.

First, let me go back to her ex boyfriend.... he was a complete jack ass and from I could guess he wasn't all that nice. But what I don't know is how or why? Did she run from him? Or was he abusive? there really wasn't any back story at all. It's one of the reasons I decided to read the rest of the series, but you'll see if that helped in the next reviews.

So, they go camping alone in the woods and some bad guys come after them and Irene has to put all her trust in Ryder.
Who by the way I loved. For someone so freaking scary and scary looking he could be so sweet. It was adorable. Especially when he was with her. He really did like her.

The story continues on... I don't want to give too much a way as it's not really a long book. But I did enjoy reading it.
I will say it does need editing, checking over and probably a bit more backstory added in. It's nothing an author can't go back and change.

The best part was how the story went, how much action and stuff was going on. I also liked the two main characters Ryder and Irene together.

Total Surrender (Sin Brothers #4) By Rebecca Zanetti

A fight he must win . . .

Piper Oliver knows she can't trust him. They warned her that the tall, dark, and sexy black-ops soldier Jory Dean would try to win her over with his steel-gray eyes and deadly charm, but she won't be conned by this man they call a traitor. All she has to do is figure out the science necessary to save his life, and she's done. Something isn't adding up, though, and she won't rest until she uncovers the truth-even if it's buried in his deep, dangerous kiss.

A passion she can't resist . . .

Jory will do anything to reunite with and save his brothers-even kidnap the gorgeous woman who's working to deactivate the deadly chip in their spines. But the forces determined to destroy his family won't let them go so easily. Keeping Piper alive is more than he bargained for-and so is his burning desire for her. But with every second bringing him closer to certain death, can he afford to lose himself in her hot and willing embrace?

Gah, where do I start? hhhmmmmmmm
It's been a few weeks since I've read this. I've only just managed to find the time to write my review. Yes, I know, I really need to keep up to date. aha

If you've followed the series you will know that the hot Dean brother's are test tube, engineered soldiers, raised by the commander and his sidekick Dct Madison.
From the start the brothers are set out to destroy the commander and his experiments, they are also fighting to find a way to deactivate their deadly chips, planted in their spines.

This book is them fighting to complete their task and we finally get to meet the famous Jory, who we all thought was dead from the beginning. I have to say out of the books this one is the best written. I felt like I had been there along with them, the anticipation of what would happen killing me. Even down to the explosions, and I don't just mean bombs, but between Jory and Piper.

I loved Jory. Loved everything he represented and believed in. He fought so hard for his brothers, not caring about his own safety. My heart literally stopped when we found out his chip was damaged and couldn't be wirelessly picked up.

Jory will stop at nothing to protect his brothers, including using the new computer tech to do it. His feelings towards her, just like the other brothers and their women, aren't the same as his normal feelings for women are. He's been locked up, and in a comma for two years and that's not including before they escaped the facility. So when Piper finally decides to take in what Jory is telling her, things start to go as planned as they can for the Dean brothers.

I will have to say more surprises popped up through this book and nothing in here dragged, confused me, or even deterred me from the story line. In fact, after finishing I went back to read the first three books. It's how much I love the characters. This isn't my usual type of book and the writing style isn't something I can usually read easily, but with this one, I read it just fine and loved every single minute of it. You can really expect a lot from this book in the series.

Defo 5* And I'm pleased to say that there will be more coming from these boys.

The Final Temptation By K.C.Lynn

KAYLA~ He moved in next door to me, all bronzed skin and lean muscle, with a panty dropping smile that could make any girl weep with need. He set my body and teenage hormones on fire for three years. THREE LONG YEARS.

In that time he became a cop- Officer Sexy as I liked to call him- and every time I pushed, he retreated. But I knew he felt it, I saw it in the way he looked at me. So one night I set my plan in motion and upped my game. I finally reeled the sexy bastard in, and he didn’t know what hit him.

COOPER~ She tempted me with her smart mouth and tight body for three painful years. I took an oath to uphold the law and honor it, which she made almost impossible not to break. But when the day finally came, I made her pay, every beautiful inch of her. She might drive me crazy and be the biggest pain in the ass, but she’s my pain in the ass. And I’ll spend everyday for the rest of my life making sure she never forgets who she belongs to.

I was given an ARC of The final temptation and like the other M.O.H novels I am privileged to have been chosen to review this novel.
I'd also like to point out at this stage that although I am a reviewer and given an ARC, my review isn't based on how I get along with the author, or how much I loved her previous books. It's an honest review that came from my heart. I know some people have trouble taking ARC reviews honestly, so I just want to clarify that my review is honest. If I found something wrong with the work I'd point it out. But there isn't any.
KC Lynn has done such a tremendous with this novel.

When I first read that KC was going to be writing Cooper and Kayla's story, I honestly didn't think I would enjoy it. Because I'd already been introduced to the characters, seen them progress through each book in the M.O.H series, I didn't think I'd get that grip, that excitement of the unknown, but I did. Infact I got more.

The book starts off in the present. I'm not going to ruin it and tell you what, but Kayla is with the girls. Little Ruthie is asking questions and so Kayla tells her.
The story flips back and instead of being dragged through their whole ordeal, their backward and forward relationship, we are taken back to the time when they finally got it together.

The story was funny as hell, Kayla as an adult is lethal, but Kayla as a kid???? You don't want to mess with her LOL she is so freaking awesome.
Cooper is sexy as hell, and there's a scene where he pulls Kayla over and let me tell you, it's hot.

I'm not going to tell you anymore, but it's a must read. If your going to follow the rest of the character's stories in KC Lynn new series then you'll have to read this one to get to know what your in for. I'm so excited to read the next book. Really am.
KC characters always feel real to me. I feel like they've become a part of my life having read the books so many times. I'm sad to see them go and that this is the final novel in the series. Worry not though, remember, other characters will be getting their own novel.

5 freaking amazing * KC did the ending to the series perfectly and did it so much justice it will have you reading it over and over again.

Heat of the moment (Out of uniform #1) By Elle Kennedy

In this heat wave, anything and everything goes.
A Red-Hot Summer story.
Shelby Harper has lusted over Navy SEAL John Garrett for over a year, but no matter how many sexy signals she sends out, the man shows a complete lack of interest in getting naked. Then she overhears Garrett talking to his SEAL teammate—a discussion in which they conclude she’s vanilla. Stung, Shelby sets out to show them exactly how un-vanilla she is.
Garrett can’t believe it when sweet, sexy Shelby suggests a wild and sweaty ménage. He’s been trying to figure out how to ask her out without coming off as a guy who only wants to get in her pants—her friendship is too valuable to him to risk it. But if a crazy, heat-wave three-way is what Shelby wants, then he’s ready and willing to give it to her.
Once she gets it out of her system, however…well, then he’ll let her know he wants her all to himself.

Heat of the moment is a short story. When I purchased the book I honestly thought it was a full length novel, but to my disappointment it wasn't.
Although, I did find the author worked brilliantly with what she written in the length that she did.

The book has one steamy sex scene where she not only asks to sleep with the man she has crushed on from afar, but also his bestfriend, having heard of their activity's from other customers.

Beautiful Redemption By Jamie McGuire

If A Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever. But what if he didn't love you, first?

No-nonsense Liis Lindy is an agent of the FBI. Deciding she is married only to her job, she breaks off her engagement and transfers from Chicago to the field office in San Diego. She loves her desk. She is committed to her laptop. She dreams of promotions and shaking hands with the director after cracking an impossible case.

Special Agent in Charge Thomas Maddox is arrogant, unforgiving, and ruthless. He is tasked with putting away some of the world’s toughest criminals, and he is one of the best the Bureau has to offer. Though, as many lives as he’s saved, there is one that is beyond his reach. Younger brother Travis is faced with prison time for his involvement in a basement fire that killed dozens of college students, and the media want a conviction. Travis’s only savior is his unusual tie to the mob. In a deal that will spare his brother, Thomas has agreed to recruit Travis into the FBI.

Liis is stubborn, defiant, and yet somehow softens Thomas’s rough edges, making her the perfect agent to accompany him to the ceremony. Posing as a couple, they must travel to Travis & Abby’s beach vow renewal and give him the news, but when the pretending ends, she finds herself wondering if they were pretending at all.

In the second installment of the Maddox Brothers books, experience firsthand the mysterious world of the elusive Thomas Maddox, and how good love can be when you’re not the first, but the last.

Book two in the Maddox brother series and have to say, I'm soooooo disappointed. I felt like it dragged and Liis repeated herself far too much.
I'd had to do a little catch up with the book before because of the books been published so far apart, or because of the fact I've read a billion in between LOL

Anyway....
She's the new agent who moves to a new town far away from her ex fiance who she didn't even love. She's not your typical girl. She's stubborn, feisty and funny at times. She's also naive when it comes to certain things.
Liis and Thomas end up in bed with each other twenty minutes after meeting each other. The they have a surprise on Liis's second day of starting in her new office..... Thomas is her boss.

As the story involved Travis I had hoped he would have been in it more. He wasn't. I felt like the story dragged trying to get him to stay out of prison and to work undercover for the ending to be over so fast. We don't get to see the takedown, get a full story or anything. It felt completely rushed.

One minute Liis didn't want anything to do with Thomas because he still loved his ex, even though he had told her that he loved her numerous of times. Which kind of annoyed me. Neither were listening and the other thing is where the hell did the love come from??????????????
They barely spoke to each other unless it was at work. I understood they had sexual chemistry but LOVE?? Nope, didn't feel that between um. So was kind of annoyed about it.
I love the Maddox brothers and to me Thomas had always been a mystery.

2.5* I'm hoping the next one will be better. xxx

Winter (Four seasons Book One) By Frankie Rose

N.B. This book was previously released under the pen name Nikita Rae. There have been significant changes to the storyline and voices of the characters. The book has also been re-edited. Please make sure the original book is not already in your kindle library before purchasing!

A girl with a dark history…

Avery Bresllin took a leap of faith when she changed her name. As Avery Patterson, she is no longer the daughter of a serial killer. No longer the girl who was bullied and abused through high school. A fresh name and a fresh start at Columbia University means Avery can leave all that behind. There’s only one thing marring her dream of a clean slate….

A boy with a past of his own…

Luke Reid has a lot going for him: sex appeal, badass tattoos and insane musical talent. Despite his guitar skills, his calling in life has always been to serve and protect. A NYPD cop by day, singer in rock band D.M.F by night, from the outside Luke seems like he’s got it made. But falling for a girl whose father was accused of deeply sinister acts—a man whom Luke shared a devastating history with, himself—only serves to complicated things.

Pieces of a puzzle…. Four symbols, four methods of destruction. A trade. Borrowed wings. Dark secrets that threaten to destroy.

What a book.......

I'm going to start off with Luke, seriously LOVED him. Not only is he a cop, but he's in a freaking rock band. Not only does he play guitar, but the hunk sings. SINGS!!!

He's insanely hot. He could have any girl he wanted, sleep with whoever, but the only one as far as I can tell is his ex girlfriend, who I dislike. When he sleeps with Avery it means something to him. It made me want him a whole lot more. Luke is every girl's dream bloke, I'm telling you.

Avery is a lovely character, a bit hard at times to understand. Like the way she know's her friend is bringing shit up to bring her down but never calls her out on it, but then when she's with Luke, she does the same thing to him. She constantly bitched at him. But I understood why. She wasn't nasty to him. She was defensive always having her guard up, it was nice to see when Luke would turn it down.

I knew how the story line was going to go, all through the book I kept guessing on who it could have been etc. But wham bam, the author completely surprised me. The only thing that bothered me was the ending.... it didn't explain WHY people got killed.

Then there's the whole Noah situation. Nothing came of it and as there isn't any information given on BOOK two then I'm a little annoyed that it didn't get resolved.

ALL IN ALL .... I really loved the book and found it hard to put down once I picked it up.

Officer next door (Lock and Key #1) By Ranae Rose

How can anyone resist temptation when it's right next door?

Riley County North Carolina has a lot to offer: coastal views as far as the eye can see, and men in uniform who are even more gorgeous. Home to the most notorious prison in the state, Alicia's new hometown is crawling with men who carry their own handcuffs and know how to use them - like Officer Liam Alexander, her one and only neighbor. After catching him out of uniform, she can't resist pausing to enjoy the show. When Liam's Southern charm drives him across the property line, life gets hotter than the Carolina summer could possibly account for. Unfortunately, there's a dark side to life in the coastal haven, even with an officer next door.

Coordinating special events at a historic - and supposedly haunted - plantation is enough to have Alicia questioning her senses and her sanity, but the spirits of the past take a backseat to a pair of escaped convicts who blaze a trail of mayhem across Riley County. Not even the most intense chemistry can survive the perils that make a sunny seaside town a dangerous place to be after dark ... can it?

I was unsure about the story before buying it but I couldn't resist the blurb.
I'm not keen on reading in third person, this book was no exception. Usually I can read past it as such, but with this one I couldn't. I felt the book had too much going on for it to be written in third person. It skips all the emotional parts for me.

It's mixed in with paranormal as Riley, the main female heroine see's ghosts and has a presence in her house. I don;t know about anyone else, but i'd have been running for the hills, not checking the sound out LOL
I loved Liam, although I wish he was more alpha male. I didn't find that with him. I also wanted to read more his part, but it never happened.

The sex scenes were a disappointed, again, down to the third person.

Missing (The Brannock Siblings #3) By Jessica Wilde

There are two things in this life that Gus Brannock truly loves; his family and his job. His family is growing and he wants what his brother and sister have before the job he's worked so hard for takes its toll. The woman he's got his eye on, however, isn't interested in being with a man who risks his life every day. When the unexpected friendship with the sassy red head he used to hate turns into something Gus just doesn't want to live without, he will do whatever it takes to have her. The hazards of his job as a detective for missing children may end up proving to be too much, but there's a reason Aiden was brought into his life and nothing will stand in his way to keep her there.

Aiden Murphy used to hate the handsome jerk next door until a surprising discovery spun her world in another direction. Her life of devotion to her sister and niece has been her biggest strength with the exception of her art. That is, until Gus turns out to be the one thing that has been missing from that life all along. Aiden must decide if the unknown is worth the risk of loving the dedicated detective or if being pulled into his world is more than she can handle. When Gus becomes the only way for her to keep the people she loves most safe, will she understand why he treasures her untried strength or will she let her fear of the unknown decide for her?

I was actually disappointed in this novel, I was hoping it would be more funny. Or a little more banter, but there wasn't any. It was really disappointing.
However, unlike all the others, I couldn't connect with this one as well as I liked. I felt like they fell in love too quickly, everything happened too quickly. I also didn't understand his connection to the little girl in it.
yes I understand feeling emotionally involved considering it's his job and all, but it made it come across as if he felt like the little girl was his. When technically they only met each other a few times. Again, no bond. Disappointing.
The story line was okay. I liked that it does raise awareness that children can go missing in the most busiest of places. You only have to turn your head for a few seconds for something to happen.

I rated it 3* because I still loved the characters too an extent.

Resisting Temptation By K.C.Lynn

Faith ~
Cade Walker is like no man I’ve ever met before. He’s cynical, brooding, mysterious and, most of all, damaged. He’s a man who declares he’s broken, and one who detests the two very things I live for most: God and love. Yet, I’ve still fallen completely in love with him because I also see the good, something that no one else ever has. I see a man who is strong, silent, honorable and beautiful. He’s a man who is now scarred just as badly on the outside of his body as he is on the inside, all because of me. One who endured severe torture in order to save me from what would be the worst thing I will ever experience in my entire life. He is a man I call my dark angel, one who will have my heart until the end of time, even if I can never have his.

Cade ~ At fifteen years old I lost the only person that ever mattered to me, and the day I lost my little sister in the most vile way was the exact moment I stopped living and only existed. That’s until ten years later, when I walked into an open field in Iraq to hear the most incredible voice I would ever hear in my life. One that rooted me to my spot, and ended up belonging to the most beautiful woman in the world. The only woman to ever make me feel something again, something that I thought was dead inside of me. And no matter how badly I wanted to keep her, I knew I couldn’t. Not with what I have lurking inside of me. It’s something I’ve always kept hidden. That is, until the day I unleashed it on the people who dared to hurt her. It was the one thing that gave me the strength to save us, but it was also the one thing that would remind me of why I could never have her.

Now two years later, the one girl I never thought I would ever see again, the one I have spent my days and nights craving like an addict, walks back into my life unexpectedly, giving us both the shock of our lives. And when the time comes that she needs me again, I no longer resist. Before I know it, I’m pulled into a life I thought I could never have, one that scares the shit out of me but it’s one I’m realizing I want. There is just one problem. One very big problem… She lives for the very thing I loathe, and the one thing that killed my sister… God.

Oh My God. I don't even know what to say to express how much I LOVED this book. It has to the best out of the three in the Men Of Honor series. Loved this novel so blooming much.

For those who have read the previous two novels will know how much a brooding mystery Cade Walker is. Also, how incredibly hot too. We get to see more from their pasts when they were captured a few years ago and why. We see him as the man he was to the man he becomes when he's around Faith.
I was so glad K.C.Lynn added in the captured scenes because like many of you, we were all dying to know about the famous girl Cade nearly died for.
I loved Faith, she is someone I would be friends with. I'm not a big believer in god, for the same kind of reason Cade doesn't believe, but I do strongly believe our souls live on when we die and we're reborn and that we all have someone out their we connect too. It's the same connection Faith and Cade have.
Faith meets a troubled teen doing community service in this one and oh my god, he brings his little sister into the mix and jesus christ, I love that child like she was my own. K.C.Lynn did an amazing job with writing her scenes, the trouble she must have gone to spelling and sounding out the words so that readers could still understand it, but it also could still be portrayed as a little girl with a speech impermanent. I loved her, loved everything about Routhie and her relationship with 'the big guy' was adorably cute, like seriously freeking adorable. I couldn't get enough and found myself excited for their next encounter.
The story is so heartfelt, so heartbreaking and found it moving in so many ways. The way she took two kids in, the way she recovered from her attacks in Arac and the way Cade moved forward with his life as each pressing moment in the book.
There are a few moving scenes within this book. I don't know if it's the seriousness of the topic or the fact K.C.Lynn is by far one of the best writers around that had me falling in love with this book like it was a real life story.

So many scenes, but I promise it will grip you, have you on the edge of your seat, crying, heartbreaking, laughing, awww'ing and just completely falling in love with everyone in the book.

I am reading the first two over again before reading this one because I got confused on who Kaityn was. So, I'll be refreshing my mind all over again ;)
Cannot wait to get to read more of her work in the future.

5* and I wish I had a chance to give it more because it truly does deserve it. Also, this novel just bumped Archers Voice off my top ten 2014 best read romance novels LOL Yep, it was that good

Conned ( The Brannock Siblings) By Jessica Wilde

Conall Brannock takes his job seriously. He doesn't get attached, he doesn't ask questions, and he protects his family at all costs. Nothing will change that. Not even the sweet, green eyed witness that just burst into his life and shifted his world. He has one job to do; protect Emily until she can testify. He can't let his interest in her get in the way, but the more he finds out about her, the more he can't help but wonder how the beautiful broken girl got into this mess in the first place. And the longer he takes to learn the truth, the deeper he falls for her.

Emily Dawson has a job to do. Stay off the grid, testify, and hopefully get her brother back. He's all she has left of the family she struggled so hard to hold together and she would do anything to keep him safe. Even if it means she has put herself in harm's way or that she has conned everyone into believing she saw something she didn't. She knows where her loyalties lie, but her stoic yet gentle protector and his crazy family makes her question everything she once knew.

Loyalty can be one sided.
Family isn't always blood.
And honesty can destroy everything she has come to love.

Conned is the second in the Brannock series and boy was this good. Conall left an impression in the first novel, but boy! will he be staying on my top boyfriend list this year. Seriously fell in love with him.
Then we have the lovely, sweet, quiet women Emily Dawson. Under witness protection she has to go under Conall's protection.
Emily loves her brother. She was his parental guardian when their parents died and has tried to give him the life he deserved. Even still, he ended up mixing with the bad crowd and falling into dangerous territory. Thinking she was helping him, loving him and keeping him safe, she testifies about seeing a murder.
It's only when she sees how Conall and his brother Gus with their sister Ash that she finally realizes that her brother is too far gone to be saved. Only now, she's worried if she can save herself.
Falling in love with Conall wasn't in her plans, but then neither was Conall's falling in love with her. Soooooo good.

I had the same problem as I did in the first with the writing. One POV is perfect and easy to read, whilst the other was speaking in third person. Like the person was talking about herself in third person. It got confusing as hell again and I dreaded every POV that was Emily's. In the end I had to change the she's to either I or I'm or something, for it to flow.

Leverage (The Brannock Siblings) By Jessica Wilde

Adventure. That's all Aislinn 'Ash' Brannock wanted in her life. Her dad and two brothers - all cops - got to see it all, but their over-protectiveness made her feel like she had been locked away in a tower with three fire breathing dragons watching her every move. Yes, it was that bad. The only silver lining? Lucas Shade. Her brothers' best friend growing up, and apparently the only man she will ever love because let's face it, none of the others even come close. After an unfortunate mistake lands her back in her father's home, her world is turned upside down and Lucas is there in a tightly wrapped package of serious with a big red bow on top. Life just got interesting, but it comes with a price, one she never wanted to pay.

Detective Lucas Shade never had a real family, but the Brannocks took him in as one of their own and he never took it for granted. When the case he has been working on for months takes a turn, Ash could become the leverage the bad guys have been waiting for, but keeping her invisible may destroy everything Lucas has worked so hard for. Good thing Ash is the only person he would give up everything to protect.

I'm going to start off with a negative on this one so that I can leave you with a positive.
I didn't like the style of writing. I kept getting confused because it was written in third person so to speak. It confused more on Lucas's POV because there was confusion with who he was. Seriously, never been so confused reading a darn book.

All that said, I loved the story plot and the characters. I loved Lucas from the minute Ash opened the door and their connection to each other. I read a few reviews before reading as I've never heard of the author before now and I will say how can a 28year old virgin be unbelievable? Not everyone jumps into bed with someone or feels like it's something they need to be rid of just to fit in. I know people who are that age and yes a virgin, it doesn't make it wrong, it just makes them sensible. I bet majority of people regret who they lost their virginity to, not many at 28 could say the same.
Anywhoooooo, I loved the brothers and have already downloaded the next one. I just hope the writing will be different but I can't see that happening. Once an author starts a certain way they keep to what they know so to speak.
The other thing was the big clue left. I don't want to give to much a way but it confused the hell out of me because of the he word used so many times. I got confused on who put what where and why etc. It didn't make a whole lot of sense and i did read it a few times and nothing.

The ending is mind blowing. I was hoping for a little something more, but even still, it ended brilliantly. There a few sneaky surprises and a whole lot of guessing, but its worth it. It ends with a sneak peak as to what to expect in the next book. Hence the reason I've bought it :)

Enjoy guys

3* It would have had five had it not been for it being misleading. I just felt it took that edge from the book, the one that makes you want to read it all over to feel that rush you get when something happens.

Breathe Kristen Ashley

In order to protect a father he does not respect, good cop Chace Keaton went bad, sacrificing his career and his future. But when the local police department’s secrets are revealed and the wife he’s forced to marry is murdered, Chace finds himself the town of Carnal’s hero. Knowing how deep in the mud he was forced to sink, Chace feels he’ll never get clean. The quiet, content future he envisioned of the love a good woman with whom he could build a family was now beyond his reach. The only thing he can do is find his wife’s murderer.

But he isn’t the only one looking.

While searching for new leads, he runs into Faye Goodknight, the town’s quiet, shy, pretty librarian. Chace has long since had his eye on what could possibly be Carnal’s last remaining virgin. He has also long since given up hope he could make her his. Faye is pure and clean and Chace refuses to dirty her with his sordid past.

Pure and clean Faye may be, but when the shy librarian is forced to go head to head with the man who she’s had a crush on since he hit her hometown, Chace finds Faye is full of surprises. And he doesn't know what to do with her.

Breathe is a novel all us romance readers can relate to. Faye Goodknight is a bookaholic, she has always got her head stuck in a book, which is just like me. I can relate to this book and see myself in Faye.
One i look geeky shows, which i QUOTE to as well. Have to say i have never watched star treck or anything like that but give me supernatural with Dean and Sam and i'm there.
The fact she says Holy-Frak made me giggle. loved it.

This is a beautiful, emotional, heart stopping, and hot read. I absolutely loved the twist in. To me this book was different from the rest of the KA books because of Mali. When you read the novel you will understand why it is. It broke my heart reading about his story, about how he grew into a boy he should have always been. Really heart touching and i have read this so many time, and every time i feel the same emotions as if i was reading it for the first time.
K.A brings out all the raw emotions out in this one. Truly heart stopping.

PLUS, yes PLUS ... to those who are a rock chick fan like me we have a star guest in this one ;) youll just have to see if you havent already read it.
Another plus is we get to read more about the Corrupt police with Chase story. It all began with Ty Walker from the Colorado novel Lady Luck.

5*
