Spellbound (Hex Hall Series #3) By Rachel Hawkins

Ever since she started at Hectate "Hex" Hall a school for "gifted" students Sophie Mercer's life has been a whirlwind of disasters. But now Sophie is facing her biggest crisis so far, and this time it's her life, and the lives of everyone she loves that are at stake.

Ahhh, now I can get to the good stuff.
I surprised myself by enjoying this series. I was recommended over Facebook and was told I HAD to read the Hex Hall series. And I'm so glad I did.
Not only do we see Sophie grow as a young woman, but as a witch too. She starts getting a hold of her powers but then, BOOM, they're taken away from her in the last book and in this book, she has to work with not having them, something she wanted after seeing what they could do to a person.
She never wanted to hurt anyone with her powers but she knows without them, she can't help save the ones she loves.

So, with her friends and family, Sophie sets out to get her powers back, set things right with the dark power taking over Hex Hall and finally sort things out with Archer. Cal's meant to be her mate and she doesn't quite know what to do because where she feels something for him, she loves Archer. WHY? I have no idea because my heart was totally set on Cal LOL

But before they can make a move, they're summoned by dark magic back to Hex Hall where everything has changed. No one can leave, escape and they're thrust back into the school like nothing had happened by the very people who tried to kill Sophie and her father.
Things get more complicated from there and the story is thrilling and captivating. I couldn't put it down and the ENDING!!!! OMG!!!!!

THE ENDING!!!!

It blew me away and had me sobbing like a baby. It was so good. All that tension... it was brilliant.

Raising Demons (Hex Hall Series #2) By Rachel Hawkins

Sophie Mercer's first term at Hex Hall turned out to be quite eventful. First the ghost of her evil grandmother haunted her every move, then her best friend was accused of murder and of course there was the discovery that Archer Cross, aka the boy of her dreams, was actually an undercover demon hunter - which would probably be something she could have worked on, if she hadn't also discovered that she was actually the demon Archer was hunting…

So, despite their issues, Sophie is actually relieved to be spending the summer in London with her father. But when your father is Head of The Council of Prodigium and your summer is being spent at the headquarters of everything magical, then a quiet holiday isn't really that likely. And, as Sophie struggles to come to terms with her new found demon powers, she finds herself thrust once again into a world of dark magic and conspiracies. The only thing that could possibly make things more complicated would be for Archer Cross to show up again, which of course he wouldn't, would he?

After starting out the her new school year with murders, a ghost haunting her and killing said ghost, and a boy of her dreams turning out to a demon hunter, Sophie's battle has only just begun.

She's summoned to her fathers house for the summer, and thankfully, she's allowed to bring her friend Jenna (Vampire) and the grounds keeper Cal, who we find out is her destined mate.
Now, let me get one thing put out there, I LOVED Cal. I desperately wanted these two together. They had more of a connection than Archer, who makes an appearance in this book, showing Sophie she can trust him.

But things are more complicated than Sophie first imaged. There are secrets, an enemy seeking revenge and dark magic surfacing.

The plot thickens in this book and once again, we're left hanging with another cliff hanger, a good one LOL

Hex Hall (Hex Hall Series #1) Rachel Hawkins

In the wake of a love spell gone horribly wrong, Sophie Mercer, a sixteen-year-old witch, is shipped off to Hecate Hall, a boarding school for witches, shapeshifters and faeries. The traumas of mortal high school are nothing compared to the goings on at "Freak High." It's bad enough that she has to deal with a trio of mean girls led by the glamorous Elodie, but it's even worse when she begins to fall for Elodie's gorgeous boyfriend, Archer Cross, and frankly terrifying that the trio are an extremely powerful coven of dark witches. But when Sophie begins to learn the disturbing truth about her father, she is forced to face demons both metaphorical and real, and come to terms with her own growing power as a witch.

Sophie, a sixteen year old witch is shipped off to Hecate Hall after losing control of her powers at a highschool dance.
When she gets there she's shocked, approached by a group of mean girls and is roomed with a vampire.

Now, the story does seem slow at first but it does get into it.
I didn't feel hers and Archers connection as well as I would have liked to, but they are teenagers, they fall in love at sight LOL

I did enjoy all the mystery going on. It felt like Sophie was thrown to the wolves when her mother dropped her off, but she's in more danger at that school than she was living in the human world.

It ends with a cliffy, a GOOD one.
