Mariska If you asked where this sudden surge of bravery came from, I’d have to be honest. I had no fucking idea. Stuart rode into the barn looking like sex on two legs… very tired sex on two legs, but sex on two legs all the same, and I made up my mind. After the way he kissed me yesterday, I didn’t care what type of bullshit line he tried to spin, Stuart Knight was in the same space as me. He was fighting hard, but he wanted this. Now I was in his bedroom ordering him around, and he was actually allowing it. Humoring me, more like it. Not for one minute was I suffering from the delusion that this man took orders from anyone. Still, for whatever reason, exhaustion or simple curiosity, he let me take the lead. Once his shirt was off, I couldn’t hide the hitch in my breath at the site of his lined torso. Ridges crossed his abdomen, lines stretched across his broad shoulders and down his arms. He lay on his stomach across the mattress, and it was all I could do not to run my tongue over every inch of his beautiful body. Instead, I quickly took off my boots, and for increased mobility (yes, that was my excuse), I removed my denim shorts. Lightly I smoothed my palm across his lower back, trying to remember the touches I’d learned in the few massage therapy classes I’d taken. Why hadn’t I taken more? Kneading a little harder, I knew I had to get lower, down into the pelvic area to give him relief. “Do you mind if I remove your boxers?” My voice was breathless and trembling. Those snug, dark briefs didn’t hide much, but I knew once I saw that ass, I’d be a goner. “No.” One word. He’d sounded almost as cautious as me when he said it. Closing my eyes, I shook myself. Now was the time. This was my man. If I was going to make it happen, if I was going to make any of this make sense, from the day I left Bayville to this moment, I had to go for it. Fate had dropped this opportunity straight in my lap. Inhaling a quiet breath, I gently pulled the waistband out and lowered it down his legs. I knew what was on the other side, pressed between his pelvis and the mattress, and I didn’t want to hurt him. Miraculously, I got his underwear off, and Oh. My. God. Square and tight, with palm-sized indentations on each side… For a moment, I could only stare at his backside. Perfect and golden as the rest of him. Climbing back onto my knees, I took the quietest deep breath in the history of recorded time. It trembled going in, and my hand trembled reaching out. I touched him. He seemed to breathe at that exact moment as well—almost as if he’d been holding his breath, too.

Darcy raised an eyebrow and snorted. "How about... no." Bastard! I curled my lip into a sadistic grin. "Okay, you asked for it." Darcy shook his head at me and moved forward so he could brush by me. "I don't have time for- What the hell?" When Darcy was close enough to do so I manoeuvred my body behind his, hooked my arms around his chest and searched for his nipples with my hands. When I found them, I grabbed them between my index fingers and thumbs and pinched. "Me nipples, let go of me nipples!" Darcy cried. I growled and tweaked his nipples a little harder. “You look beautiful tonight,” I said.

“Thank you. I hoped you’d like this dress.”

We stopped walking just under the trellis, next to a corner of the house. From here, we couldn’t see the rest of the party, but we could hear everything. Hundreds of people stood just a few feet away from us, and they’d come looking for us soon. We had commitments and expectations to fulfill, but at that moment, my eyes and my attention were on her.

Only her.

“Did you wear it just for me?” I said.

“Yes,” she said under her breath. “Just for you. I do everything just for you –”

My mouth covered hers in a rough, intense kiss. I gripped her face with one hand and the small of her back with the other, crushing her to me in a split second of passion that didn’t have any boundaries, a passion that broke every rule, and defied everything that made sense in my life. My tongue twisted and shoved against hers and she opened her body beneath me as our kisses deepened. Before long, I forced us against the ivy wall of the house, and there we were, locked together in a moment that somehow we’d claimed as ours and ours alone.

I only broke the kiss when she moaned against my mouth. Something about the sound made me remember where we were. Who I was. What we were doing. How wrong it all was from the standpoint of everything I had ever been taught. No. We couldn’t do this. No. No. No.

Someone might see.

Above us, inside the house, a light in the study flipped on and I heard two voices. Had they seen us already?

“I’m sorry,” I said as I forced our lips apart. I took an immediate step away from her, but it did little to calm us both. Her breath came out hard and fast, a series of quick pants, as if she hadn’t wanted to breathe while we kissed.

And I don’t know what unsettled me more: the kissing or the look of extreme pleasure she had on her face.

“I am . . . I’m . . . I should go.” I said.

Without another word, I turned and disappeared down the pathway, leaving her alone against the ivy.

~Morgan~ Looking at my phone screen, I smile at the text in front of me. I’m off 2nite. Movie @ ur house or mine? Texting back, I tell my best friend I will be at her house after work with takeout. It is not often she gets a Friday night off. Working in a bank, I have every weekend off. Casey’s career path is far different than mine, though, and it is one that requires weekend time. The empty notebook page stared back at me, making my restlessness worse. I chewed on my pen, another nervous habit of mine, as the instructor blabbed on about study guides and scheduled quizzes. This morning had gone so far off track, I wasn’t sure how to recover. I shifted casually in my seat, acting like I couldn’t get comfortable. Honestly, it was to sneak looks at Ryan. Leaned back into his seat, one arm draped over the back of his chair and the other resting on his leg, his bad boy demeanor on full display. He was so confident in himself, so comfortable in his own skin. I sighed quietly and shifted in my seat again, glancing over at him. He looked like the perfect student, until I noticed a smirk forming. He ran his tongue over his bottom lip and nipped at the side of it with his teeth. Without looking at me, he reached into his bag and held out a piece of paper. It was his schedule. Keeping his eyes down, he leaned into me and whispered, “Why don’t you look to see if we have any other classes together? You’re making me self-conscious with all that staring.” A small gasp slipped from my lips and it felt like the floor dropped out of the room. Not only had I been caught, but he called me out. Somehow this morning just got worse. I reached for the paper but he grabbed my hand. Amusement flared in his blue eyes as he pulled me toward him. He was enjoying my embarrassment a little too much. “And please, a favor? Stop twirling that pen around in your mouth like that. Unless you have an evil plan to make me, and every other guy in here, fail this class miserably.” My shoulders slumped as I tried to fight back the humiliation that rolled through me. I looked away immediately and hid my face behind his schedule. He chuckled as he leaned back into his chair, the sound of it warmed my heart.

If they’d known about ADHD when I was little, my Ritalin dosage would’ve been OFF THE CHARTS!! It goes without saying; I spent A LOT of time by myself after the teacher moved my desk out into the hallway. ** Silver lining** With all that alone time on my hands, I used my imagination to make the world interesting. When I was little, people said I had an "active imagination". In elementary school, teachers called me a "daydreamer". My high school counselor said I needed to “learn how to focus" and my college professors warned me to "buckle down". Before I knew it, it was time to “grow up”. So that’s what I did. I grew up, got married and had five kids. I work as a full time nurse, active in my church, part of the most amazing book club, blog about books with my best friend and cart small humans to school, football, theater, dance ect. Oh yeah...and write a bit when I can and now people say I’m "talented". Moral of my story: Hug your kids, embrace their differences… love them for who they are. Someday, the traits you think are struggles now…Might be what makes them the happiest! Micki lives in small town Iowa with her husband, kids and a fat Cocker Spaniel named Joey.
