#Swag (GarkShark #3) By Cambria Hebert

These drivers got #swag...

Racing is in her DNA.
Right alongside money and power.
When you're the daughter of one of the most powerful men in the country,
you have to work harder for success.
Joey Gamble's a girl on a male-dominated track.
With a daddy who can buy whatever she wants.
But she doesn't want anything... except to EARN her reputation.

Racing is his passion.
Trouble follows him everywhere. Some even say he invites it.
When you're nipping at the taillights of the best driver in the new NRR,
you have to fight and claw for each and every success.
It's never been easy for Lorhaven.
That's why he doesn't play by the rules.
He's a man with a serious chip on his shoulder against the pro racing circuit.
We at GearShark want to know what's up with that.

We've also been hearing rumblings...
of a pro who wants to go indie.

We've invited racing royalty and the driver from the wrong side of the tracks to sit down and talk to us about a possible crossover.
We expected sparks to fly when Joey and Lorhaven crossed paths.
Will those sparks ignite into a full-on inferno?

Okay, for some reason, my review isn't on here so I thought I'd update my blog, and write a new one.

I can honestly say, as much as I love Drew and Trent, this was one of the best books of the Gear Shark series.
Holy hell was it hot and steamy.
Lorhaven and Joey have to do a photoshoot together and my God, did it get hot. Loved that part.

But more than that, Joey is part of Hazing, and it's forbidden within the circuit, so when she decides to leave the pro division to go Indie, it pisses off her other team mates even more and causes more tension. But, Joey is a fighter. She has a backbone and even though they've put her through shit, she moves forward with her head held high. It doesn't hurt she's also got Lorhaven, Arrow, Drew and Trent at her back, supporting her.

Lorhaven isn't as hard as he makes out in the other books. He's actually a darlin. I loved his character and loved watching him progress as a character throughout the book. Cambria has a way of bringing a group together and making them family.

One of the best books in the series. Loved it. Hope we get to see more of these two in the future.

Blur (The GearSahrk Series #4) By Cambria Hebert

Nothing but a #blur…
There’s a new kid in town, and he’s hell on wheels.
From what we’ve heard, it may be because
he knows exactly what hell’s like.
Lonely.
Scorching.
Unforgiving.
You may know his brother, the NRR hotshot
(and former GearShark cover model)
Lorhaven.
It’s only natural a driver with his background and family connections
has sped his racecar into the newest, hottest division.
But that’s not all.
Arrow may be following in big bro’s tread marks,
but he doesn’t plan to stay there.
He’s swerving onto the road less traveled…
and a lot more controversial.
He’s opening up about his private struggles with sexuality
to tell a story that’s gone unheard until now.
One thing’s for sure; Arrow may have a painful past,
but his foot is heavy on the accelerator.
With speed like this, he’s bound to leave everything behind in
nothing but a #blur.
Check out the full feature article inside…

This story...

I've loved Arrow's character from the first gearshark book. He seemed like such a lost soul just looking for someone other than his brother to connect with. I just wanted to protect him and cuddle him.
Yes he becomes friends with Drew and Trent, forming relationships with them and their friends as well as Lorhaven's GF, but deep down, you can tell he wanted more.

I knew he had a rough past from Lorhaven's book, but how bad it was is confirmed in Blur. He's gone through so much and all because he likes men. It's not fair. Anyone should be able to love anyone, no matter the gender or race. It breaks my heart when I see people not accepted for who they are.

But then Hopper comes into his life, someone who is just as broken on the inside as he is and together, they mend each other's pieces.

I honestly couldn't put the book down. It did drag in places and I felt there was more explaining then there was interaction between characters. I felt like I was reading a diary of some sorts. But even still, Cambria is an amazing writer and has done a superb job at writing such an emotional, heartwarming story.

Make Me (The Sterling Shore Series #10) By CM Owens

DALE

I'm a mature and very pragmatic person, whom others like to call boring.
At least I was...until Harley came back into town...

What do you do when a girl comes back for some petty revenge against you and seduction is part of her game?
You pretend to be a millionaire dom, of course.
Yeah...it sounded better in theory. My execution keeps ending up in awkward messes, and this game between us gets even messier when I learn more about Harley. She's easy to fall for, even though she's hazardous as hell.
What happens when all the games end?

HARLEY

One simple little goal turns into one giant disaster.
On the surface, Dale Sterling seemed like an asshole from my past; the typical arrogant guy who boulders through life and anyone in his way. So a little revenge seemed plausible, considering what he did to me once upon a long time ago. In hindsight, it was immature. But revenge has kept me on top of the world since I stopped being on the bottom of everyone's shoes, so I make no apologies for my immaturity.
But Dale is weirdly kinky...
Everything is going fine...until it gets real. Now the guy I wanted to humiliate is the same guy I'm begging my heart not to stupidly fall in love with.
Unfortunately, my heart tends to be stubborn.

CM Owen's is really outdoing herself this year. Her books have been amazing but they've also been funny as hell.

Although it's funny, Harley's story is heart wrenching. She's bullied as a kid, and in the most heartbreaking way possible. Her story was touching and I could understand her need to come back to Sterling Shore for revenge.
But the poor girl didn't have the whole story on one certain person she is intending to get revenge on, not until she arrives and sees him.
She's an outcast in her family. Her father let her go, deciding to put money behind his stepdaughters (who was one of Harley's tormentors) tuition, leaving Harley to fend for herself. Her mother wasn't any better. She is an alcoholic and drug user, only using her for her money.
Because, like any badass, Harley comes back to Sterling Shore, not only rich and successful, but gorgeous as hell.

Awww, Dale. I love him. I hated he got cheated on by his wife and I was so glad when I saw he was getting a book.
He gets himself into a lot of bother in this book though. Not only does he have some major trust issues, but he also has no clue when it comes to women LOL When he finds out why Harley is back, well, he takes advice from his cousins.
Big mistake.
He fakes being a Dom... it doesn't end well. For poor Harley LOL

I love this series and the group of people in it.

I am excited to read Britts book, I love her character and we see more of her in this book. She becomes close to Harley and is a reason for a blow out between the group, which broken my heart.

But the person I'm not most excited about is Maverick... My God, his CAT issue had me in tears. I'm not joking.

Worth It By S.M.Shade & CM Owens

What's the recipe to the ultimate disaster week?

Three unruly friends.
A wedding we shouldn't have been invited to.
Two unexpected romances.
A scoop of sexy.
And a double scoop of chaos.

Lydia is a good girl who is above revenge. Good thing she has us. No one cheats on our best friend and rides off into the sunset with his new bride.

What was supposed to happen? Unleash hell like two badasses. It was a simple plan, but we failed to anticipate a few things. A rogue prosthetic, an accidental exorcism, and dominatrix strippers willing to take things way too far, just to name a few.

What actually happened? As usual, nothing went as planned, especially when two sexy distractions popped into the mix. We were there to avenge our friend, not to get entangled with two cocky, arrogant men, who don’t like to hear the word no. I was sure we could resist.

I mean, it was only a week, right? What could happen in a week?

Not intrigued enough? There's totally a duck in this story.

Ah yeah. Now we have your undivided attention. Enjoy our chaos.
#WorthIt

OMG!!!

What can I say...

This book had me in freaking stitches. I don't even know where to start or how I'd finish this review. It's just too darn funny and not in an over-the-top way either, but belly rumbling, toe curling laughter--funny.
This has to be the funniest book I've EVER read and I've read some pretty damn funny books, but this one, this just blew them all away. This... God, I can't even explain how funny it is. I laughed so hard throughout the whole book.

Three friends, Lydia, Henley and Kasha are off to a wedding. A wedding in which is Lydia's cheating Ex Boyfriend and Kasha's stepbrother. Her stepbrother and mother are uptight, the whole crowd is upperclass and well, these girls, they have a whole new league of class.
They start out just wanting to get Lydia through the week, through the wedding, they're her bestfriends after all.

But once they get there, all bets are off. They decide to sabotage the wedding--only with a few pranks LOL but it goes horribly wrong, for EVERYONE in involved LOL In the funniest way possible.
I can't stop laughing, even as I write as I think of a few things that happened.

But it's not just about the humor, or the wedding, but there's also Kasha and Henley's story. It's told in their POV's and shows how they find love... in the most weirdest way possible.

I couldn't put this book down. It's by far the best book I've read this year and I've read so many brilliant ones. CM Owens and S.M.Shade really outdid themselves. They gave us something to remember, something to talk over and laugh over... because believe me, you'll laugh LOL

5* And I honestly wish I could have given this book more.

Kaleidoscope (Colorado Mountains #6) By Kristen Ashley

For years, Jacob Decker couldn't get out of his mind the woman he let slip through his fingers.

The problem was, he was wrong about which woman he let get away.

But when he meets Emmanuelle Holmes again on a sidewalk in Gnaw Bone, Colorado, things quickly start becoming clearer. And Deck now has new problems seeing as Emme has a boyfriend. A boyfriend he instantly doesn't like. A boyfriend he soon discovers there are a variety of reasons not to like.

That isn't the only challenge Deck faces as he discovers his Emme is a puzzle he's having trouble solving. Warm and sweet then distant and clueless, Emme holds Deck close even as she pushes him away.

But Deck doesn't like unsolved puzzles. And he'll stop at nothing to discover the solution to the mystery of Emmanuelle Holmes.

I only read this was Deck's book and had to ONE CLICK it, especially after reading in Book 7 (Yes, I missed a book or two) that he was with someone.

So....

I don't know how to feel about this book. I LOVED these characters. I really did. Emma started off as an independent woman. She's fixing up a bloody mansion by herself for crying out loud. She's doing poorly, but hell, she's doing it. The lights go out in my house and I call my mom LOL So power to Emma.

Deke is... I don't even know what Deke is but he's good with computers and works for the police on occasions to catch the bad guys. The bad guy at this point happens to be the person Emma is dating.
Don't worry, there's no love triangle, Emma finishes with him pretty quickly. But he doesn't like the fact she's broken up with him.
He dated her best friend when they were younger until her friend cheated and dumped him. He ended up ditching the both of them.
I thought for sure this was going to be the same MO as her other novels, but it wasn't. He was pretty much out of the picture after getting arrested.

But it was the whole Emma thing that got me worked up. I liked her, or I tried really hard to towards the end but I couldn't.
You see, Emma was kidnapped at a young age by a man grieving his dead daughter, who Emma happened to look like. She doesn't really remember much apart from him being nice and taking her to the police station where she was handed over to her distraught parents.
But... Yes, another but.
She SPEAKS to her kidnapper. When he was released from prison she tracked him down and became FRIENDS with him.
I didn't get it.
I don't think I could ever get it.
The man was harmless, yes, but she was a child at the time and must have been scared out of her wits end if she didn't remember her time there with him. He could have done anything.
However, this is one of the reasons. The other is the fact it clearly defined her future since she doesn't let anyone in, not really. I knew that was why she pushed Deck and friends away before they become to close.

BUT then...

Deck told Emma he was working away and had business to attend to, which he kind of did. But then, Emma drives over to her kidnappers but stops of at the coffee shop on the way, seeing him with his ex, her ex best friend and she loses it.

Me? This is where I'd kick him to the curb just like she did. But then they hash it out and he BLAMES her mental illness and gets mad at HER. Like he had the right. She saw him there with his ex and he gets mad at her. Instead of just explaining and owning up to his shit, he got mad at her. It got me so worked up and knocked points off Deck.

Although, Emma did drive me nuts most of the time and I couldn't really blame his frustration with her. It kind of killed the book for me, which is the reason it's getting a low rating.

Rock Chick reawakening (Rock Chick Prequel) By Kristen Ashley

A prequel to Kristen’s Rock Chick series, Rock Chick Reawakening shares the tale of the devastating event that nearly broke Daisy, an event that set Marcus Sloan—one of Denver’s most respected businessmen and one of the Denver underground’s most feared crime bosses—into finally making his move to win the heart of the woman who stole his.

I've always wondered about Daisy's and Marcus' past. I really did. It's only a short novella, but my God, it's worth it. Seeing Daisy before she met the rock chicks was so heartbreaking.
Don't get me wrong, she was still the bubbly, caring mama jama southern girl we see in the Rock chicks, but her character screamed LONELY. When Marcus pursues her, I was like, YES! Go get her boy. I loved him. The way he was with her, how he IS with her... heartwarming.
I want a MARCUS SLOAN! LOL

I couldn't put the book down. From the moment I ONE CLICKED the novel, my eyes were glued to the screen, and the ending, my GOD, that ending did me in.

I'm also praying we get a Rock Chick, Next generation series. I'd love that. Be so cool.
