Don't Make Me Beautiful By Elle Casey

Don't make me beautiful

Nicole's life consists of fear and solitude. At twenty two Nicole should be out enjoying the world, instead she hides away in her home where no-one know's she even exists. Not that she would want them too. From the hand of her violent boyfriend Nicole's face and various body parts are unrecognizable making her look like a monster.
After baseball comes through her window, Nicole only thought it would bring another beating not knowing it would change her whole life forever.

Brian steps in finding Nicole on the floor half dead when he goes to apologies about the broken window.
Having realized what his son was talking about when he said he saw a monster, Brian figures it out quickly that the reason for her injuries are from the hands of her boyfriend.
Thinking quickly he pretends that she is his sister Briana.
Having come to a truce when Nicole wakes up they both agree to stick to Brian's story. Not having any other choice and not ready to talk to the police about the abuse she had suffered she leaves the hospital with Brian when her injuries get better.

Brian finds himself attracted to Nicole, not by her looks but by her inner beauty, only Nicole doesn't think she is beautiful. Brian tries to convince the person inside, who she is mind and soul is beautiful and he finds himself becoming more than her protector. Not wanting her to leave, but not able to stay with her X a street away, he helps her fight her demons. showing her there is more to life then what he gave her. That not every man is like the monster she lived with.

This book is not for the faint heart. Content warning: Violence, adult situations, Sexual content, Foul Language. Would NOT recommend to younger readers.

Oh this book was so emotional it had me crying most the way through. Knowing everyday there is a woman been mistreated from the hands of a man is heart breaking. Nicole story was about so much more. Her journey to recovery, and finally opening up.
As the story goes on and more comes out, the more the story broke my heart.
Never have i ever read a book like this one and i don't think anyone could ever write anything like this again and make all the emotions of heartbreak, Loss, blame, quilt, anger, redemption, love, lust ...... but this book captures everything a woman going for domestic violence.
Reading Nicole's journey going through all the stages was heartbreaking.
The book not only shows you there is a second chance, there is redemption and there can be other choices. There are people out there willing to help you, who don't want to manipulate you.
Its also i reminder that no matter what you look like, what disfigures you have your beauty is on the inside. Nicole's true beauty to me was how strong she was, whether she knew it or not, to me she was beyond strong. Her beauty was skin deep, seeped into her bones and Brian saw that the minute he laid his eyes upon her.
People always say '' if a man hit me i would leave his ass'', There wrong, until you are in that situation you will never know. It isn't black and white like people think it is. Emotions are the biggest kink to it but also fear and second chances.
I saw this book in my recommendations list but kept it to the back of my list due to the description but i am so glad i read it. Every woman should read this book.
I hadn't cried real emotional tears to a book until this book, it wrung me out completely.

The story is powerful and heartfelt, Elle Casey really did do an amazing job.

The book also contains the national numbers for the Domestic Violence helpline towards the end with a help guide for woman.
To all my fellow followers or readers ..... This book to me deserves more than the 5* i gave it. Beautifully and carefully written.
