Deklan By Shay Savage

My father owes a debt.
I am his currency.
I’m supposed to marry the recently crowned mafia king of the Foley family as repayment for my father’s transgressions. I don’t understand why the Foleys would want me, but I’ve grown up in a crime family, and I know the ugly consequences of not doing what you’re told.
But as the wedding date approaches, the deal changes, and I’m about to be wed to a man I know nothing about. In fact, I don’t even know his last name.
Instead of becoming a mafia princess, I’m marrying the henchman.
Deklan.
After one look at him, I’m not sure I’ll survive the wedding night

When I read the blurb for Deklan, I expected it to be a typical mafia romance. He was going to be this dominate, mean, over alpha male who scares the hell out of her.

But that isn't what we get.

No....

Deklan, even with all his hard exterior is actually the softest person I've known to be in a mafia romance novel. He cares.
Not only about his new wife, but about marriage. He's gone through his own traumas but in the end, his belief in God, and in his vows are sacred. It's special. And it made me love his character.

But the world is out to get the main female heroin. She is thrown to the wolves without knowing much of what her future will hold.
She was kidnapped as a child and had already been through a lot. But with Deklan, she feels safe again, even if she is unsure at first.

Transcendence By Shay Savage

It’s said that women and men are from two different planets when it comes to communication, but how can they overcome the obstacles of prehistoric times when one of them simply doesn’t have the ability to comprehend language?
Ehd’s a caveman living on his own in a harsh wilderness. He’s strong and intelligent, but completely alone. When he finds a beautiful young woman in his pit trap, it’s obvious to him that she is meant to be his mate. He doesn’t know where she came from, she’s wearing some pretty odd clothing, and she makes a lot of noises with her mouth that give him a headache. Still, he’s determined to fulfill his purpose in life – provide for her, protect her, and put a baby in her.
Elizabeth doesn’t know where she is or exactly how she got there. She’s confused and distressed by her predicament, and there’s a caveman hauling her back to his cavehome. She’s not at all interested in Ehd’s primitive advances, and she just can’t seem to get him to listen. No matter what she tries, getting her point across to this primitive but beautiful man is a constant – and often hilarious – struggle.
With only each other for company, they must rely on one another to fight the dangers of the wild and prepare for the winter months. As they struggle to coexist, theirs becomes a love story that transcends language and time.

There isn't much to say on this novel. So I'm just going to get to the point.

I had read this book going in blind. I was recommended by another follower, and all I was told was it's about a caveman, and it's funny.
I never even read the blurb so I honestly had no idea.

Honestly, it had taken me a little to get into, but then once I understood more, I found everything funny. How an author wrote this beautiful story is beyond me. No words are shed, no communication other than actions are given, yet I felt like I heard everything they were trying to tell one another.

I do wish we had it in Beth's POV or in Ehd's words BEH. Even after reading the ending I still wish we had some in her POV, but then I guess we wouldn't have had the big shock at the end, which I'm telling you blew me the hell away. I was like NOOOOOOOWAYYYYYY.

I will also admit, I did skip through most parts as it did drag, and found the same things happening over and over. Still, Transcendence is unlike anything I've ever read before and is worth a look.

Surviving Raine By Shay Savage

As the captain of a schooner catering to the elite on the Caribbean Seas, Sebastian Stark does his best to avoid any human encounters. Interacting with people isn’t his thing, and he prefers the company of a bottle of vodka, a shot glass, and maybe a whore. There’s no doubt he’s hiding from a checkered past, but he does well keeping everything to himself…

…until the night his schooner capsizes, and he’s stuck on a life raft with one of the passengers.

Raine’s young, she’s cute, and Bastian would probably be into her if he wasn’t suffering from alcohol withdrawal. As the days pass, DTs, starvation, and dehydration become the norm. Even the most closed person starts to open up when he thinks he’s going to die, but when she realizes their traumatic pasts are connected, it’s no longer the elements that have Bastian concerned.

He has no idea how he’s going to Survive Raine.

You know when a book stays with you because it was just that heartwarming? well Surviving Raine is just that. It will stay with you for the rest of your life and not just because its a SOS survivors guide.
They say you learn something new everyday with Surviving Raine I learnt that much more. I couldn't put it down at times.

The novel had you feeling like you were on that journey with them. Everything that was going on I felt. To be honest surviving Raine was an unusual read for me because I'm usually into biker novels, or something more on edge.
I honestly thought the book would be boring. I mean who can make a book with two characters and a boat interesting? Shay Savage is who.
Although I found the book dragged at times I still enjoyed it till the very last page and I can't wait to read more from this author.
