Elude (Eagle Elite #6) By Rachel Van Dyken

Twenty-Four hours before we were to be married--I offered to shoot her.

Ten hours before our wedding--I made a mockery of her dying wish.

Five hours before we were going to say our vows--I promised I'd never love her.

One hour before I said I do--I vowed I'd never shed a tear over her death.

But the minute we were pronounced man and wife--I knew.

I'd only use my gun to protect her.

I'd give my life for hers.

I'd cry.

And I would, most definitely, lose myself, to a dying girl---a girl who by all accounts should have never been mine in the first place.

I always believed the mafia would be my end game--poisoning my heart, while it claimed my soul. I could have never imagined. It would be my redemption.

Or the beginning of something beautiful.

The beginning of her.

The end of us.

Rachel Van Dyken has done it again...
LOVED, LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

Knew to expect the worst when I read the blurb, and also the backstory of Andi, but I was never prepared for what actually went down.
I swear to God, it tore my heart out into a thousand pieces. I'll never forget this book in a hurry that's for sure.

As like all the other Elite books, there is a reason for EVERYTHING. Secrets are kept, lies are unraveled, and people get shot. So what makes this different from the other Elite novels? Sergio and Andi. There are no other two people like them. I can't picture them not together and it's heartbreaking to know there story was short, but beautiful none the less.

It was touch and go throughout and it kept me on my toes. I read in one sitting and loved everything about the book and everything it brought to the Elite series. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Andi is dying, yet so full of life. She brings out another Sergio, I swear. She was like a miracle worker. When I thought of Sergio before I pictured a broody, depressed, angry man, but with Andi he was anything but. She got him to laugh, and to admit his fears. She brought him to life and it was beautiful to read.

5* and I wish I could rate it higher.

The consequence of Revenge (Consequences #2) By Rachel Van Dyken

After losing his best friend to another guy, the notoriously too-confident Max Emory suddenly feels lost. He may have devastatingly good looks, an abundance of charm, and a claim to one of the biggest hotel empires around, but he has no ambition anymore. So when his fed-up friends decide they’ve had enough of his moping, they sign him up to be the next bachelor on the reality series Love Island. And between his pride and his forged signature on an ironclad contract, Max just can’t say no.
Now he’s stranded in paradise with twenty-four women, one terrifying goat, and Becca, the breathtaking barista who already turned him down back home. The closer Max gets to Becca, the more determined he becomes to win her over. As she gets to know him better, things start heating up. But is Becca really after Max’s heart—or is she after the cash prize she could claim once the cameras stop rolling?

I received The consequence of Revenge as an ARC from Netgalley. The book is to be released the 9th June and I'm so glad I didn't have to wait that long because this book was freaking awesome.
Have you got that one author you've never rated lower than a 5*??? Well, Rachel Van Dyken is that for me. None of her books can be rated any lower. I have loved every single one. She truly is an amazing writer. I say this all the time but she really is.
If you read The Consequence of Loving Colton then you know all about Max and his behavior, and how incredibly funny he is. I loved him from the first book, but in this novel we see a new side to Max we don't see in the first one. Not only did he love Milo as a bestfriend, but he was offended she didn't want more from him. He doesn't tell us that side in the first book, but in this one we see how much it affected him.
So when Jason, Milo's brother becomes his new BFF, he wasn't expecting for him to get revenge. Not only does Jason get all the brunt of the hurt during the first book, but he gets it just as bad in this one.

Jason sends him to a love island as the bachelor. He has 25 women falling over their feet to be the one he picks. You'd think he'd be excited and all up on that, but NO! Instead, he runs scared from most of them and plan an attack to keep himself safe, making a new BFF called Becca.

I loved Becca and her quick whit and funny humor. She really knew how to play Max at his own game and not let his overacting behavior bother her. In fact, I think she loved it.

The book is hilarious and I will defo be recommending this book to everyone. It was brilliant and I think they will get a kick out of reading it. It made me laugh so much I cried tears.

You'll also meet Hade, G and a few other starr guests that I think you'll come attached to LOL (You'll understand once you've read it)

The consequence of loving Colton By Rachel Van Dyken

It’s all fun and games…until someone’s heart is broken.
They’re not kids anymore, but Milo Caro is certain that Colton Mathews will only see her as his best friend’s little sister for the rest of their lives. After all, he made that clear the night before she left for college. But four years later, her brother is getting married and Colt’s the best man—and guess who is the best man’s last-minute date?
Milo vows to use the wedding to either claim the smoldering firefighter’s heart or douse this torch for good. When Max—her best friend from college, who may be carrying a torch of his own—crashes the party, they devise a plan to make Colt see what he’s missing. But after Colt catches on, he decides to cook up his own revenge.
Now it’s personal. Colt and Milo are at war, and between Max’s questionable acting methods, an unfortunate trip to jail, and a maniacal fiancĂ©e, what could possibly go right?

OH MY GOODNESS ME!!!!

I received an ARC of The consequence of love Colton by NETGALLY and let me tell you how excited I was. MEGA excited. There has never been one book of Rachel Van Dyken's that I have LOVED. she constantly manages to have you gripped, hooked, laughing, crying... whether that's from laughing to much or because of the emotional effects is another story. What I'm trying to say is, she always manages to give us everything we want in a novel.

The book is the brother's bestfriend romance. She loves her brothers best friend Colton, who she has loved since she was young, but all she's ever been is his best friends kid sister.
NOT!!!
Looks really can be disbelieving.
When she returns home from college for her brothers wedding, she isn't all that shocked Colton is there.
After a kiss is shared between the two, Milo blurts out she has a boyfriend all so he doesn't know how truly upset she is over him rejecting her after their kiss.

In come Max.
Max, Max, Max, Max, Max.... what can I say....... he is freaking hilarious. I mean full on, over the top, freaking hilarious. Towards the end of the book I didn't know whether to keep laughing or just punch him LOL I loved him.
He has to be one of Rachel's best characters, although no one can beat my Tex from her Elite series.
Anyway, Max is her best friend, who she's never seen as anything as a friend, so when he puts her under the bus, and invites himself to the wedding, only good things can happen right?
NO!!!
Everything turns explosive. Actually, I surprised he never had grenade up his sleeve.
Anyway, can't wait for more from Max. Funny as hell, sexy and honestly???? he is charming as hell.

Oh and guess who is also in the book???
If you had read previous Rachel Van Dyken books then you'll know how legendary her Grandma's are. In this one we have another, funny, horny, clever, deviant, Grandma. My God I loved this woman. She had me in stitches.

Anyway, the wedding doesn't go the way one should be planned, but overall the story plays out perfectly and I don't think anything should be altered or changed. It was utterly perfect.

I'm giving the book a 5* but let me tell you, if I could, it would be rated a lot more then a measly 5*.

Well done Rachel for giving us yet another humorous, romantic, sexy novel to rant over. LOVED it.

Ember (Elite #5) By Rachel Van Dyken

Everybody Loves A Bit of Darkness..Until It Consumes Them...
I am a Killer. A Rapist. A Monster.
I know only pain and survival.
That is until the Cappo's sister walked into my life.
And changed everything.
She's a light who makes my darkness darker, her smile makes my heart turn to ice, and I can't escape the fear her seductive looks instill--knowing it's only a matter of time before I fail--again, and take her for myself.
This is the story of my redemption.
But it's not pretty...I died, and now I'm alive, but not living, breathing but not surviving. I am Phoenix De Lange, son to a murdered mob boss, estranged brother, horrible friend, monster in the making, newest leader to one of the most powerful families in the Cosa Nostra.
And I will have my vengeance.
Or die trying.
I am Phoenix De Lange.
Death is all I know.
Until she offers me a piece of life--I can't resist taking

It feels like I've been waiting years to read this novel and as always, Rachel didn't let us down. The book is freaking amazing. I don't think I'd ever get enough of the Elite series or their characters.
I end up laughing in the most inappropriate moments and wanting to cry in others.

I wasn't sure about reading this book because I wasn't sure I'd like Phoenix. What he did as a boy made me sick to my stomach and I don't know how anyone could find redemption after doing something like that. Then I read the novel and if anyone deserves redemption is Phoenix. He was a victim just as much as the girls were. I felt so sorry for him it broke my heart. Everything about him did, to him not eating, to him not sleeping, it really broke my heart.
I just wanted him to be happy.

I loved how, out of everyone, it's Bee that fixes him. That see's he's dying inside. She supports him, pushes him and loves him and it was incredibly sweet and adorable.

Really enjoyed this novel. I don't want to say anymore as I may as well tell you the whole plot LOL!!! Just know, this series is one of the best out there and with Rachel Van Dyken, you'll never be disappointed. All her work is amazing. She's so talented it makes me envy her. She really knows what readers want in their books.
The Elite series is something else entirely. No other Mafia book could ever live up to this one. None!!!

Also, you get a sneak peak into the books which just so happens to be Sergio's. It's only a page or so, but my God, my eyes watered.

Eternal By Rachel Van Dyken

Lead singer of AD2 Demetri Daniels only wants one thing...
To marry the love of his life and make the day perfect for her.
But perfect isn't exactly happening, not with his sister-in-law going into labor, or with rabid fans discovering their wedding location, or birds suddenly attacking the rehearsal dinner.
It doesn't help matters that his bride to be is starstruck as singer Ashton Hyde makes a drop in appearance to start recording their new album.
Nothing is going right.
And it's about to get worse.

O M G.....

It doesn't matter what book this woman publishes, she never fails to make me laugh until I'm crying. Or literally crying. She can swing it both ways.
I love all her work. She is one author that just gets better with each book. She keeps each characters personality's different, there are never two the same. I love that about her books. How she manages it with having so many characters I don't know, but she pulls it off.

I absolutely loved this book. The banter and ''friendship'' between Demetri and Ashton is hilarious, oh and best not forget Cabe.

I honestly can't praise this book enough or the whole series. They really are worth the read and to see this two books merge into one has been so good. I loved the characters. Hopefully we read more about the tour. That is something I can't wait for.

The only thing I will say is..... Demetri and Alyssa wait to have sex until their wedding night. In fact, it's a huge deal to both of them. They want it to be special etc... So why the hell did they have it on the kitchen side??? As hot as it was, I thought he'd want to take her to a bed and cherish her.
Not a biggy, but still, thought I'd be honest.

The Dare (The Bet #3) By Rachel Van Dyken

Boring Beth Lynn has always lived up to her nickname… until she wakes up in a hotel bed next to a sexy as sin state senator she re-connected with at a wedding the previous night.

The biggest problem? She can't seem to remember anything about the night before except for crying into a box of cookies, and she’s pretty sure Grandma Nadine slipped something in her drink. And what should have been a one night stand turns into a six day adventure when Grandma whisks them off to Hawaii to save them from the ensuing media firestorm.

Jace isn't looking for commitment — he believes he made that clear when he left the wedding with Beth. Then again, he can't remember much of anything other than the way her skin felt beneath his hands. Now he's stuck with her at some lame couple’s retreat and trying his hardest to fight the attraction only a woman like Beth could invoke.

He doesn’t think it can get any worse.

But one spider attack… A donkey ride from hell… And an unfortunate episode with Viagra tea — and there’s one thing Jace knows for sure: He should never have agreed to Grandma Nadine’s suggestion in the first place.
Because if this isn’t paradise, and it isn’t a vacation — that only leaves one option.

Survival.

But to make it through alive… they might lose their hearts in the process.

When I read book two I honestly thought Grandma would stop her meddling ways, I mean, who else did she have to play cupid with. I was soooo wrong LOL the conniving woman did it again using Jace and Beth's past. A past they thought no one knew about lol. Wrong.

I really did feel sorry for Beth during this book. Even though it ended happily, I still felt Beth went through the wringer and had the bad side of the relationship. She'd been called a prostitute, whore, boring, lame, nerd and even got dropped when Jace chose his job instead of her.
When they made the wager at the beginning of their ''getaway'' and I air quote getaway lol, I thought it was going to go differently. Only, Rachel had a few hidden surprises that don't come out till the end.

I will have to say Grandma in this one, is really funny. Have you ever watched couples retreat? This book kind of reminds me so much of that film lol

The Wager (The Bet #2) By Rachel Van Dyken

What is it about a junior-high crush that can send an otherwise intelligent woman into a tailspin? TV reporter Char Lynn wishes she knew. Jake Titus is too rich, too handsome, too arrogant: a trifecta that once lured Char into the best night-and worst morning-after-of her life. Now they've been thrown together in a wedding party. It's awkward, but survivable . . . until Jake stops acting like a jerk, and starts acting like the man she'd always hoped he could be.

If watching your brother marry your best friend is weird, being attracted to your best friend's other best friend is downright bizarre. Unfortunately for Jake, Char hasn't forgotten how he once tossed her aside. Worse still, Jake's already-nutty grandma is even crazier about Char. Cue meet-cute shenanigans and all manner of meddling, and somehow, Jake's falling. For Char. Now all he has to do is make her believe it . . .

Just when I thought Grandma couldn't get any sneaker, she went and made a wager. aha.
I never thought I'd enjoy a book with Jake as the male lead, but I did. We actually see the real Jake in this novel. He's more than just a whore. He's actually funny and smart.
Char and Jake actually know each other from their childhood also and yet again the famous Jake Titus takes a girls virginity and leaves, only with Char he leaves a thankyou note. No wonder she hates him and does what she does on the plain.
I'm telling you hilarious. There's this one part that had me in freaking stitches, I mean, I was literally crying with laughter it had made me laugh that hard. She had met Jake at the airport who had brought one of his.. ah-um, whores, with him when they bump into grandma. This little snippet of the conversation had me crying.

"Sweet heart, I'm the one with hearing aids, not you. I called you a whore. Would you like me to spell it for you to? she nudged Jake. "what did you do? find her at a high school career film?'' and then in a horrifyingly loud voice she began spelling W H O R E.''

There is obviously more to this than this little bit, but it's so funny. Can you imagine your 85 year old nan shouting this in an airport? LOL too funny

The whole book is humorous and I found this even more funnier than the first in the series. Gram had them on a wild goosechase doing their best man and maid of honor duties.
It didn't help, grnadma made a wager with Travis and Kacey, but who wins?????
This is one to read if you need something light, funny, romantic and easy to read. defo 5*

The Bet (The Bet #1) By Rachel Van Dyken

"I have a proposition for you." Kacey should have run the minute those words left Seattle millionaire Jake Titus's mouth. It's been years since Kacey's seen her childhood friend Jake, but the minute Jake mentions his ill grandmother, Kacey is ready to do anything for the sweet old woman. And if that means pretending they're engaged for her sake-so be it.

But Kacey wasn't counting on Jake's older brother Travis still being there. She calls him "Satan" for a reason: she's never forgotten the way he teased and taunted her. Yet when they meet again, Travis's gorgeous smile is a direct hit to her heart . . . and Kacey's more confused than ever. As the days pass, only one thing starts to become alarmingly clear-she never should have accepted Jake's deal ...

What a great start to a great series. I've read all three now as I write this review, so make sure you check out my other reviews.

Kacey I felt was a little naive when it came to Jake. I mean seriously, he was egotistic, pig headed, full of himself jerk and she still said yes. Blooming yes.
What Kacey nor Jake were counting on was 'Grandma' and holy hell she's a freaking legend LOL

Grandma is 80 something and you'd think she was only in her late twenties the way she carries on through the book aha. Most people her age are nitting, reading and having naps, not our grandma though.
She had planned the little get together by manipulating her grandchildren and Kacey. So funny to see.

Now the chemistry between Kacey and Travis is hot. Like seriously hot. It also shows throwing stones doesn't always get you the girl. Yep, Listen up boys, don't throw stones at a girl you like or pull their hair. It will only lead to hate and in this case, war between two people.
The things they had done to each other had me in stitches. It's something that can easily happen between enemy's, especially when they're close like Travis and Kacey were.

All in all I loved this story.

Shame (Ruin #3) By Rachel Van Dyken

Everything done in darkness, will eventually be brought into the light.

I ran, but all it did was keep me one step ahead of my past. I tried to start over; new name, new identity. But you can't change your soul.

A fresh start at college was just what I needed. For a while, it worked. I was the party girl, the one that seemed confident, but it was a lie.

When guys kissed me--I felt only pain.

When they touched me--Nothing but fear.

Deep inside, every girl wants to be the beauty in the story, to find someone that will see you as their world.

But the truth? I was the beast. And as much as I wanted redemption, I wasn't fool enough to think I'd ever get it.

Until he walked into my life.

I wasn't prepared to fall for someone. My scars were too deep, the wounds too raw. But he offered me peace, he offered me security. I should have known it was just another lie--I should have known that falling in love with my professor was a bad idea.

But I was powerless to stop myself from falling.

And he was powerless to catch me.

Because the darkness finally caught up to me, and as fate would have it, a cruel twist almost bled me dry. But I'm stronger than I knew. I'm stronger than you think.

You think you know my story, but you don't....after all everyone has Shame in their lives-- and I'm no longer afraid to show you mine.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I LOVED this book.
Oh my God. I loved Lisa in the other two books. She made me laugh so much, but in this book we get to see the real Lisa. The real woman behind the fun and smart mouth.

She went through such a horrific past. Domestic violence comes in all sorts of abuse, whether it's manipulation, violence, name calling, mental abuse, it all leads to the same thing, domestic Violence. No one should have to be in that kind of relationship and I hope, like I did myself, other people find a way out of that whole they get themselves into. There are millions of people out there ready to help you, sometimes it feels like there's no way out, but I promise, there is always away. You just have to take that first step in believing it.
I don't have the contact information at hand to write in this blog post, but if you search in google, you'll find numbers to women aid groups that will help you.

This book is about Lisa's past coming back to haunt her. What happened to her is so shocking, so sickening that I just wanted to pull her from the book and hold her.
Rachel Van Dyken is such an amazing writer. She did it again with this book because I was completely hooked to it and couldn't put it down until I'd finished. It had me gripping the edge of my seat, my heartbeat race because i needed to know what happened.
Some parts where predicted and other parts I just took a guess at and found I was right, but even guessing the outcome still had me so freaking shocked I almost screamed the house down and woke my kids up.
It was so freaking good.
Oh and we have Professor Blake ;) Oh jesus, I fell in love with him and i'm pretty certain he could seduce a nun into bed. I'm not kidding. You'll need to take a cold shower after hearing the things he says.
And like the other books in the series, Rachel and her wise words affected me more than any other book I've read. It held so much truth, so much wisdom, I even found myself wanting to change certain aspects of my life. I can't even begin to tell her how truly inspiring her words are, the way she fits them into the story, the way she makes you feel them down to your very core. They hold so much meaning it's hard not to grasp ahold of them.

5* But just like the other three in the series, it deserves so much more.

Toxic (Ruin #2) By Rachel Van Dyken

Gabe Hyde is on borrowed time. He's been hiding his identity for over four years-hidden from the world that used to adore him--obsess over him--driven to the edge of insanity by one poor choice.

But that one choice, altered the course of his life forever.

Pretending isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially when pretending means hiding your real self from the people that care about you the most. But if anyone ever discovered the truth it wouldn't just be his life at risk--but hers.

Saylor doesn't hate men.

Just Gabe.

Only Gabe.

He's a reckless, happy-go-lucky, silver spoon fed pain in her ass. Everything about him makes her more and more confused. Unfortunately they both donate time at the same Group Home. If she wasn't afraid of flunking, she'd be long gone. She hates that she's attracted to him almost as much as he hates that he's attracted to her--and she can tell, especially since their first encounter ended up making her knees so weak she couldn't form coherent sentences for weeks afterwards. But the closer she gets to him, the more confused she becomes. He isn't who he says he is, and he's hiding something big.

What happen when two worlds collide? Two worlds that never should have met in the first place? Some secrets are too big to be hidden forever--the only question? Will his destroy everyone he loves? Or finally bring about the redemption he's been craving for the past four years?

Everyone has a secret...What's yours?

This book kept me guessing all the way through. Every time I thought I knew his story, something else would come up and completely confuse me again.

Toxic is a fitting name for the book. He thinks he's toxic, she thinks he's toxic but both for different reasons. Hers is because he consumes her thoughts and his because he thinks he's toxic to those around him.
He made a promise to Wes when he was in hospital to be a better person. Only thing is, Gabe is stopping himself from becoming that person because he thinks he can't make up for the wrongs he did. Only, he had no wrongs in my eyes to fix. His child hood wasn't the best, although he lived a dream doing what he loved, it was forced upon him.
You know when a kid misbehaves and there's always someone that will say I blame the parents well, in this book this truly is the case. I always say a child's behavior has nothing to do with the parents if the parents are doing nothing but their best. In this case, his actions were all because of his dad. I hated the man when I finally got the whole story.

The book is funny, Gabe's humor really didn't let us down, even Lisa had me laughing a few times.
What really had my heartbreaking was the sad moments. I cried so much during the end of this that I've still got sore eyes this morning. I thought Ruin was the saddest book I'd read, but this book is a completely different tear jerker. It's about loss, about moving forward, about forgiving. It was truly emotional ride to read.

We get to meet Princess in this book and because I don't want to give anything away I'm just going to say I loved her character so bloody much.
I also loved Saylor's brother who has downs-syndrome. He made me laugh, awwww and wishing I could meet him. My kids have a little girl with it in their school and oh my god, she's the most beautiful, most funniest, bright little girl I've ever met. My kids adore her, the school adore her and she's such a bright little girl to be around.

This is another book that there aren't many words to explain how good it is, it's not a depressing novel, one you'll read with sad songs playing in the background, it's one that will have you laughing, enjoying it, loving it, breathing it and totally addicted to it. It also helps that Gabe is completely HOT!!! I love his personality, I wouldn't care what he looked like as long as he made me laugh like he does in the book. Total genius is Rachel, she truly knows how to suck her readers in until their bursting for more. Which I am, because I'm totally reading Shame next, which is the third installment ;)

5* for Rachel. I just wish she'd stop making me cry dammit lol

Ruin (Ruin #1) By Rachel Van Dyken

I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Wes Michels offered to be my light.

I didn't know that time wasn't my ally -- that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer--each moment as it came--but it would never be enough.

Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn't--I wouldn't ever be the same.

And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.

Ruin is another one of those books that you need to read. It's another inspirational read from a fantastic author.
Cancer hits so many people, good people, and it's something only to be cured by a miracle. A big one at that. In this novel it shows us miracles can happen. I know in real life cancer beats more people than people beating cancer. It's hard to explain the words Rachel describes life, and death in without actually copying from the book, even then I still wouldn't do it justice.
It's such a beautiful story and it had me crying, laughing, gasping, and cooing over the romantic things Wes would say to Keirsten.

It's about two people hurt by death or the effects death. Wez meets Keisten and helps her through the darkness lurking in her eyes, through the depression he sees within her. What she don't know is, she's also helping him with his illness. He had given up, given up on a future, the thought of one and everything else, until she comes along and makes him want to live. It's truly heartwarming. Couldn't put the book down and read in one sitting.

I really can't write a review to do the book justice. It has so much meaning, so much emotion, and so much hope it's hard to write in words how exceptional this book truly is.

5*amazing, well deserved stars.
If I could give Rachel more I would, I would give her so much more because this book proves just how much of a fantastic writer she is. Even the dedication that most people don't even glance at I read and was in tears. Truly heartbreaking, but heartwarming all at the same time.

Bang Bang By Rachel Van Dyken

He was my best friend.
Until he became my enemy.
All within the span of one night.

Bang, Bang, Bang, Bang.

The rapid fire of gunshots became the soundtrack to my life.

This is the Mafia. Lines are blurred. Choices are never black and white. And the life you thought you knew is... one giant lie.

He was dead.
And I didn't want his life to be in vain, so I tried to make something of myself. I tried and failed.

Now he's back. Alive. And he wants something...

Me.

Nobody ever said the mafia played fair.
Welcome to The Family.

Bang Bang is only a short novella, but I loved it. It made me laugh just like the rest and had me wanting to grab Tex out the book and kiss him. Especially when he gives Amy a little speech.

I loved getting to know a little about the two new characters and to find out Sergio has a hot brother ;) Who wouldn't want to know these details?
Ax is hot, like seriously hot, and I loved his badass attitude, especially when he's talking to the Capisi AKA Tex. LOL and is reaction to Nix laughing. Had me crying. Don't even get me started on a conversation between Ax and Tex LOL. I'm rambling, sorry!!!

All in all it was a fantastic novel and I cannot wait to read more from the elite series. As usual Rachel gives us a tease with a book, leaving us begging for more.

Elicit #4 By Rachel Van Dyken

Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted...my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.
I crave war more than peace, and I'm about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra...that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.

But the only person able to do that...is my best friends sister, Mo Abandonato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.

Im cursed so I did it.
I'm numb so I held it.
I'm wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare--the five families greatest enemy. It's my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I'm going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I've always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death...yours.

Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family.

When I read the last part of the third installment, I was excited for this novel I have a few negative thoughts on this book and was slightly disappointed.
One ~ was the constant errors in it. I found it hard to read at times, especially when I didn't know if someone was still speaking aloud or thinking in their head.
Two~ was the book was really short and ended before 80%, the rest was filled with chapters to other different books.

Now the good thing is the story line. I loved getting to know Tex and his relationship with Mo.
I predicted most the outcome by the beginning, but I won't spoil it for those who have yet to read it.
I will give you a sneak clue. There are big surprises installed. I honestly never saw the one thing coming.
I was confused on parts of it because I presumed they put something in Mo's arm to track her and listen and was the reason why she whispered the safe word to Tex when he asked her if she loved him. I just felt like I was misunderstood a lot and got easily confused.

However, everything that comes together makes it perfect for another book. I cannot wait to read the next installment of the elect series.
This isn't the best one to be written, but Tex is my favorite character.
The book has so much humor and funny scenes. It was great.

Even with my negative points, this isn't a bad review. I loved how Rachel brought the characters back together and kept certain things a mystery to us. I've rated Elicit a 4* and I'm excited to read more of her work. Well done.

Fall (Seaside series) #4 By Rachel Van Dyken

If you look up British in the dictionary…A-list celebrity Jamie Jaymeson’s name would be next to it. Along with charming, witty, man-whore, and a lot of other adjectives that he wouldn’t appreciate being attached to his name.
He has everything in the world going for him.
Until fate decides his number’s finally up.
Caught in a compromising position that really wasn’t his fault to begin with (really it wasn’t)—Jaymeson’s been told by his agent to lay low in the one town he swore he’d never return to—the seventh circle of hell, known by its residents as Seaside, Oregon.
Two months? He can do anything for two months. Especially if it means getting a part in the new book-to-movie series that has girls all over the world swooning.
Play nice? Keep it in his pants? Please. He played an alien once—he was going to totally rock it.
Until a certain someone who he may or may not have publicly humiliated—rejected, then humiliated again, suddenly pops up next door.
Self control has a way of flying out the window when the one girl you can’t have—is suddenly dangled right in front of you.
But Priscilla isn’t just off limits—she’s a pastor's daughter and barely legal to boot. So Jaymeson does the one thing he swore he’d never do—he tries to be friends. With a woman.
Only, it’s exactly what he needs.
Until suddenly, he craves more.
He wants to date her.
She wants to date someone else.
He wants to kiss her.
She asks him to give her lessons for her new boyfriend.
When opposites attract, sometimes the only option you have is to leap—and trust the fact that when you fall—that special someone falls too.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this one as much as I did. Rachel still managed to make this hilariously funny and entertaining. Only Jaymeson could make this book the way it is.
I loved him from the beginning.
Only he could fall in love with a good church girl.
He was sweet, and funny and so entertaining when it came to his jealous streak.
Without spoiling anything the two live next to each other after a fire breaks out at Priscilla's home, and in the morning they both walk out onto the balcony and scream when they see each other. It may not seem funny for people reading this review, but I pictured the scene so clearly in my head that I couldn't stop laughing about it for a while.

Then we have the whole pretending to be someone else thing he had going on, just so he could selfishly stay in her life. I found this really cute and sweet. I really loved her as a character, and loved the chemistry between the two.

Another fantastic read from the seaside series.
This one will have you laughing, wishing for more, and having you flooding in tears.
Yes! you heard me. Tears. This has an emotional ending, and I sobbed until my eyes and chest stung.

5*

Shatter (Seaside series) #3 By Rachel Van Dyken

Sometimes the only way to heal... is to shatter.

Rock star Alec Daniels has it all. Love, fame, money... But being in the limelight isn't all it’s cracked up to be, and after one bad choice comes back to haunt him he is left picking up the pieces of his carefully constructed life. Now he faces the toughest decision of his life:

Deal with his mistake like a man, or dive back into the dark hole of depression, drugs, and denial that have been his comfort for so long.

One wrong move could destroy everything. His girlfriend, his family, and his future.

This has to be one of my favorite in the series. We get to see all characters from the series together ''team building''. I can't even describe how funny it is. They have to work as a couple for a reality TV show and believe me I would love for it to be real, because I'd be watching it.

Secrets are revealed, and lies are told in this fantastic novel, but all explode into another mind blowing novel. Pasts come back into light and all hell breaks lose, all this with cameras following their every move.

We all get to see Jamyeson and I will be writing my review about his novel next :)

Be sure to grab a copy and get to know these Daniels boys. They are on Book Boyfriend you want to keep for the rest of your life.

If only they were real ;)

All in all another 5* review, though I wish I could give this one more.
