Hunter (Black Angels MC Book 1) By A.E.Fisher

Mallory
I spent years running from my past. Then, when my past comes knocking in the form of dark, delicious sin, I find myself caught up in a man I shouldn’t. My son's uncle. A dangerous biker. Not to mention, an overbearing Alpha male.
Hunter is everything I need to escape from, yet I find myself wanting to stay. I know I shouldn't let myself or my son care for him, but I can't help wondering if maybe he's the one who can finally save me from my past.

Hunter
The plan was simple. Find my nephew, bring him home, and raise him in the Black Angels like my brother would have wanted. But things never go as planned, like my nephew’s mother. My brother’s one-night stand.
Mallory is spicy and sweet; one second she is mouthing off to me, and the next, she is moaning my name. The longer I’m with her, the harder she is to ignore. But she is hiding something while desperate to escape me, though I have her in my grasp. I will find out what she is hiding, and when I do, she will have nowhere left to run.

I felt so sorry for Mallory. At first I didn't understand why she ran or why she seemed to be hiding, but once I realised why she was the way she was, I felt for her.
She has a little boy, the dad a biker, so when his brother comes knocking on her door, she's scared, wanting to flee, but she knows there's no use, he'll just find her again.

Hunter is a little of a dick to her. At one point he locks her up in the car until she calms down after she gets mad that he lied to her, taking her son to a place she didn't want him being.
Justified too. She is his mother after all.
But that isn't the only dick move he makes towards, but even with his behaviour, you can't help but like him. He's so sexy and seeing him with the little boy is cute.

Slowly, the heat between them gets hotter and they end up in bed, Hunter domineering her in a way she actually likes lol I actually loved seeing them together. They were the perfect fit and the more she spoke of her past and her time with his brother, I didn't really judge her for being with Hunter. As nice as his brother was, and I'm glad in the end we find out he was going to be doing the right thing, I think she found love in Hunter and not Infatuation like she did with his brother.

But when she's attacked in their homes, things change for Hunter. He becomes more protective of her and his nephew. The drama and action is really good throughout the book.

I also loved all the secondary characters, they were great.

Can't wait to read more in the series.

Cole By Tijan

I shouldn’t have remembered him.
He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn't know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.
But I could feel him.
The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.
The second time was different.
He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.
That was just the beginning.
He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…
Cole Mauricio

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review...

What can I say...
I really LOVED this book.
It was a page turner from the very beginning.

Addison is still grieving after losing the love of her life and struggling to come to terms with moving on, she finds herself haunted by her dead husband. So moving into the hard to rent, silver building with a mystery owner, she starts out her new life. Or tries to...

But then she sees Cole in a restaurant and her life changes forever.

Cole, my God, I knew he would be sinfully dangerous and sexy to boot, but my God, I loved his character.
We meet him in Carter Reed 2 and even there, we know he's got a lot to offer. But he is to die for in this book.
He's sweet, funny, mysterious, sexy, deadly and a hard man to get close to but even still, he lets Addison in as far as he can without endangering her. Or tries...

The last part of the book was explosive. I couldn't put it down. So much was going on, so many secrets, so much action, I couldn't look away.

Perfect read, packed full of everything you want in a mafia romance novel. Really did enjoy it. Will definitely be reading this one again.

Spellbound (Hex Hall Series #3) By Rachel Hawkins

Ever since she started at Hectate "Hex" Hall a school for "gifted" students Sophie Mercer's life has been a whirlwind of disasters. But now Sophie is facing her biggest crisis so far, and this time it's her life, and the lives of everyone she loves that are at stake.

Ahhh, now I can get to the good stuff.
I surprised myself by enjoying this series. I was recommended over Facebook and was told I HAD to read the Hex Hall series. And I'm so glad I did.
Not only do we see Sophie grow as a young woman, but as a witch too. She starts getting a hold of her powers but then, BOOM, they're taken away from her in the last book and in this book, she has to work with not having them, something she wanted after seeing what they could do to a person.
She never wanted to hurt anyone with her powers but she knows without them, she can't help save the ones she loves.

So, with her friends and family, Sophie sets out to get her powers back, set things right with the dark power taking over Hex Hall and finally sort things out with Archer. Cal's meant to be her mate and she doesn't quite know what to do because where she feels something for him, she loves Archer. WHY? I have no idea because my heart was totally set on Cal LOL

But before they can make a move, they're summoned by dark magic back to Hex Hall where everything has changed. No one can leave, escape and they're thrust back into the school like nothing had happened by the very people who tried to kill Sophie and her father.
Things get more complicated from there and the story is thrilling and captivating. I couldn't put it down and the ENDING!!!! OMG!!!!!

THE ENDING!!!!

It blew me away and had me sobbing like a baby. It was so good. All that tension... it was brilliant.

Raising Demons (Hex Hall Series #2) By Rachel Hawkins

Sophie Mercer's first term at Hex Hall turned out to be quite eventful. First the ghost of her evil grandmother haunted her every move, then her best friend was accused of murder and of course there was the discovery that Archer Cross, aka the boy of her dreams, was actually an undercover demon hunter - which would probably be something she could have worked on, if she hadn't also discovered that she was actually the demon Archer was hunting…

So, despite their issues, Sophie is actually relieved to be spending the summer in London with her father. But when your father is Head of The Council of Prodigium and your summer is being spent at the headquarters of everything magical, then a quiet holiday isn't really that likely. And, as Sophie struggles to come to terms with her new found demon powers, she finds herself thrust once again into a world of dark magic and conspiracies. The only thing that could possibly make things more complicated would be for Archer Cross to show up again, which of course he wouldn't, would he?

After starting out the her new school year with murders, a ghost haunting her and killing said ghost, and a boy of her dreams turning out to a demon hunter, Sophie's battle has only just begun.

She's summoned to her fathers house for the summer, and thankfully, she's allowed to bring her friend Jenna (Vampire) and the grounds keeper Cal, who we find out is her destined mate.
Now, let me get one thing put out there, I LOVED Cal. I desperately wanted these two together. They had more of a connection than Archer, who makes an appearance in this book, showing Sophie she can trust him.

But things are more complicated than Sophie first imaged. There are secrets, an enemy seeking revenge and dark magic surfacing.

The plot thickens in this book and once again, we're left hanging with another cliff hanger, a good one LOL

Hex Hall (Hex Hall Series #1) Rachel Hawkins

In the wake of a love spell gone horribly wrong, Sophie Mercer, a sixteen-year-old witch, is shipped off to Hecate Hall, a boarding school for witches, shapeshifters and faeries. The traumas of mortal high school are nothing compared to the goings on at "Freak High." It's bad enough that she has to deal with a trio of mean girls led by the glamorous Elodie, but it's even worse when she begins to fall for Elodie's gorgeous boyfriend, Archer Cross, and frankly terrifying that the trio are an extremely powerful coven of dark witches. But when Sophie begins to learn the disturbing truth about her father, she is forced to face demons both metaphorical and real, and come to terms with her own growing power as a witch.

Sophie, a sixteen year old witch is shipped off to Hecate Hall after losing control of her powers at a highschool dance.
When she gets there she's shocked, approached by a group of mean girls and is roomed with a vampire.

Now, the story does seem slow at first but it does get into it.
I didn't feel hers and Archers connection as well as I would have liked to, but they are teenagers, they fall in love at sight LOL

I did enjoy all the mystery going on. It felt like Sophie was thrown to the wolves when her mother dropped her off, but she's in more danger at that school than she was living in the human world.

It ends with a cliffy, a GOOD one.

Next to Never (Fall Away Series) By Penelope Douglas

Under the close watch of the men in her family, Quinn Caruthers has found it nearly impossible to spread her wings - or even date - without her three older brothers, Jared, Madoc and Jaxon, jumping in to hover. And when a family friend - several years older - from her childhood still holds her heart, she knows they're going to be a problem. Lucas Morrow is a man, and knowing her brothers, he may as well be forbidden.
But years ago, Lucas left town and shows no signs of returning. Quinn knows she shouldn't wait for him anymore.
Until a package turns up on her doorstep with no return address and its contents reveal family secrets that threaten to turn her world upside down. She's never asked about the path of her parents' romantic history, but she soon learns their happy marriage had a very rocky and passionate start.
As she starts to see things around her with new eyes, Quinn will have to make tough choices about whether she'll keep waiting . . . or finally go after what she really wants.

Okay, I'm going to start off with price. It cost me £4.99, it's not at £2.99 and to be honest, I didn't know it was only a novella, one I didn't technically need to read in order to continue the series. I wouldn't normally spend this much, and I know for a fact if I knew it was a novella beforehand, I wouldn't have bought it, But....
It was worth the money. I really enjoyed it and I'm so glad I didn't know because I would have missed out on such an amazing story.
Quinn, who is Jared, Madoc's and Jaxon's younger sister, who goes to school with THEIR kids, doesn't want the future they and her parents have laid out for her.
She wants to go her own way.
She's also in love with a man called Lucas, who we only get a glimpse of from his POV at the end. He's not actually in the book as a main character.
Anyway, a book turns up on her doorstep and it's not until one of her nieces read it out loud that she actually bothers with it but when she realises who it's about, she can't out the book down.
Now, she's reading about her mother and fathers love story, one that is rough, long, bumpy and heartbreaking.
But it makes her see that no matter how much she listens to what others tell her, she needs to learn to go her own way. It gives her the strength she needs and I cannot wait for her book. I really can't. Penelope Douglas is an amazing writer and she does such an amazing job with these characters.

Branna (Slater Brother Series #4.5) By L.A.Casey

Branna Murphy is a survivor, a wife, a friend, a sister, and a soon-to-be-mother. She doesn’t have time to linger on anything, especially on a silly argument about how many children she will bear.

Ryder Slater is a hardass, a husband, a friend, a brother, and a soon-to-be-father. Unlike his wife, he has nothing but time to argue his case about how many children they will have… until that time is threatened to be taken away from him.

A surprise honeymoon deep in a beautiful forest for a secluded getaway was supposed to be fun, romantic and peaceful – until the storm of the century hits and both Branna and Ryder face a new enemy that has means to harm their family.

Mother nature.

Branna is consumed by her love for Ryder, and will fight to the end to keep her family safe. Branna treasures Ryder, and what Branna treasures, Branna defends.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review...

This series just keeps getting better and better. L.A.Casey's writing gets better and better. The Slater Brothers keep getting better and better and they keep getting funnier.

Seeing them all through this book, coming together as a family with no drama or mad man after them was such an amazing experience. But also knowing Branna is getting everything she ever wanted is just that much more. Loved it.

I can't wait to get to read Damien's story. Him and Alanah kind of get into it during the book and a huge bomb is revealed leaving them both devastated and lost. It broke my heart because lets face it, Damien is pretty much everyone's sweetheart. He's adorable.
